SIN-DEFINITION,EXAMPLES AND IT'S EFFECT.

What is Sin? Sin means doing contrary or against God's word. Sin is defined in the Bible as the breaking, or transgression of God's law according to 1John 3:4. It is also describes as disobedience or rebellion against God. (DEUT 9:7).

THE FIRST SIN

When God created the Heaven and Earth,He made man to be in control of everything He had created who was ADAM, God also gave him a woman to be his helper and companion. God had already told them not to eat a particular fruit on a tree which is called "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil".

But if we take a closer look at the Bible in (Gen 2:15-17), God told Adam first about the fruit,that means Eve(his wife) wasn't created then but after God made the woman,Probably,Adam told his wife himself,that is what we can't say for now. Then when the first sin was to be committed,the Serpent went to meet Eve. In other words,when sin wants to take place in the lives of two couples,the woman is tend to release her flesh to the devil at that time making the husband to offend God. That was in the case of Eve,the serpent deceived her and made her sin against God thereby also allowing her husband to take part in such act. When God discovered this,He asked in GEN 3:9-12,
Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him,"Where are you", so he said I heard Your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked,and I hid myself. And He said " Who told you that you were naked?" Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat? Then the man said"The woman whom You gave to be with me,she gave me of the tree,and I ate".

Let's be specific about verse 12 of what Adam told God. In other words,he was trying to tell God,"You gave me a woman that made me disobeyed you". But my question is"Why didn't Adam asked where the fruit was taken from? If he had asked,probably,he would have not eaten it. I think it was as a result of the love he had for Eve that made him to collect the fruit and eat.

If God hates sin,shouldn't we hate it too? This question is straight forward and we need to answer it straight. The answer is capital "YES" we should. When we sin,we allow darkness into our life. Sin draws us far away from God and His word. When we are in sin,we are in total "darkness".

There are many examples of sin we should look at,I will list many of them now. They are;

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF SIN

1 Sin seperates us from God

When we sin,we are seperated from God and His word. In the book of Daniel chapter 2,Nebuchaddnezar sinned against God and the end result was being thrown into the forest to eat like other wild animals,he was seperated from God before He restored him back to his position after many years.

2 Sin brings death

In Acts 5:1,a particular man and his wife(Ananais and Sapphira) sold their land and hid part of it and lied to the Holy spirit which is a sin,their end result was death. So when we sin,we die. The Bible also confirms it in Ezekiel 18:20 that,"The soul that sinneth,it shall die". And the Bible also said in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death".

3 Sin brings punishment

Let's take the case of "Jonah"in the book of Jonah chapter 1, he disobeyed God when God told him to go and preach to the people of Nineveh because God wasn't happy with them but Jonah refused and went another way. God was angry and sent out a great wind to the ship he was in,then when the storm was becoming unbearable for them,he told the people what he has done and said to them to throw him into the sea,they do not want to at first but when there wasn't any solution,they had no choice than to throw him into the sea. Then God had already prepared a great fish which swallowed him for three days before he called upon God and He forgave him.
When we sin,God brings punishment on us.

Sin is abbreviated as;
S-Satan's
I- Identification
N- Number

In our days,we have so many I.D Cards for many purposes i.e Voter's card,National Identification Number(NIN),Driver's licence,Passport,Visa and so on. So likewise satan also has his own card he uses to gain his followers into his kingdom which is " SIN". We must not allow sin to dominate us,let's take full responsibility and renounce sin in us.

WHAT MUST YOU DO TO STAY AWAY FROM SIN

1 Be born again
2 Abstain from what you think is bad
3 Allow God's spirit in you
4 Meditate and study the Bible

Jesus said"come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden,and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you,and learn of me,for I am meek and lowly in heart;and ye shall find rest unto your souls".(Matthew 11:28-29).

In a nutshell,when you allow sin,your burden will be heavy,but as soon as you come to Jesus and renounce sin in you,Jesus will give rest to your soul.

And lastly,confess your sins to Him and always plead for mercy,He will happily receive you in His arms.
