1. Realization.
This is the first step to restoration. You have to realize where you are, that is not where you are supposed to be. You need to realize your faults first and seek restitution. There is an adage in my language that says, ”The day a madman realizes he is a madman that is the day he is made whole”.
The moment you realize things are not working, and the day you realized your faults that is when you are on the path to restoration. Many people don’t opt for restoration because they don’t know they need it. The prodigal son noticed how things have degenerated for him and he had to think and realize his fault. The day and moment he realized, that was when he took the necessary step towards restoration.
You will know you need restoration when you notice persistent lack and lack of favour in and around your life. The prodigal son was able to pick up this signal and he realized his fault. Often times, you might not know what led you to your present state, but you need to have a realization that you are not where you should be, and things are not working the way they should. You need to be uncomfortable with your situation before you can come to your senses and realize that you need restoration. You need to be uncomfortable with your present state.
2. Violent Reaction.
When you have come to realize that things are not working the way they ought to, whether you know in an instant what led to it or not, you need to have a violent reaction to it. You need to let that uncomfortable situation provoke a reaction from you in steps that must be taken.
