WEEP OVER CITIES [PART ONE]
A look at Luke 19 :41-44.This scene is familiar to Bible readers.It is one of the few days when Jesus seemed to be triumphant ,yet we see Him beholding the city and weeping.
Ecclesiastes 3:4 states there is a time to WEEP,etc.
- Jesus wept is the shortest verse in the Bible.
- He was at the grave of Lazarus ,His friend.
- Jesus weeps with us when any sorrow comes.
We are admonished to "weep with those who weep"etc.
- Deep compassion ,like our Lord ,is one of the need of our day.
- Had you thought of this ?We do weep easier than we rejoice.Let a member suffer and we suffer .But let member be successful and rejoice -do we rejoice ?Do we?
Many things to rejoice over ,but there comes a time a weep ,to show deep compassion.
We are discussing three sub-topic here . Namely
- Jesus was weeping over the city of Jersualem.
- Consider some reason for weeping over this city.
- Cities of our day doing same thing, rejecting only one who can give peace.

JESUS WAS WEEPING OVER THE CITY OF JERUSALEM.LUKE 19:41
The city of the Jews ,the city where the Temple was.But the city had rejected Him as the Messiah.
CONSIDER SOME REASON FOR WEEPING OVER THIS CITY.
Jesus looked at the people He loved and wept.They knew not things which belong to them ,peace.They knew not the judgement coming.luke 19:43-44.
CITIES OF OUR DAY DOING SAME THING, REJECTING ONLY ONE CAN GIVE PEACE.
Nations today crying "peace,peace " and yet only turmoil ,war,strife, ungodliness, violence.How can this world have peace when the prince of peace is rejected?
CONCLUSION
Somewhere in that weeping ,let us weep for ourselves,Luke 23:28-31
"Daughters of Jersualem ,weep for yourselves"
Interesting note: No woman is mentioned as speaking against our Lord in His life ,or having a share in His death.
On the contrary: He was anointed by a woman for His burial,women were first and last at His grave .He first appeared to a woman after His resurrection ,woman ministered to His needs,Women bewailed and lamented Him,a heathen woman interceded for His life with her husband, pilates.
Yet,there is no account of any woman of Jersualem that believed.
"...weep for yourselves and your children"
- How we need mothers to weep over the lost condition of their children.Sad that too many mothers wait too late to weep and pray.

Amen. We need to have the same compassion as Jesus had . Weeping for those who need help. Expecially those who need the gospel. But our weeping must be followed with a ln action.
