God takes care of his vineyard

God takes care of your vineyard. In the middle of the harvest, this language of cutting, pruning, decanting, fencing, etc., sounds to us. They are tasks that the vinedresser carries out with his favorite vineyard, pouring into it his most exquisite cares, in the hope that in due time he will bear its fruits: abundant, tasty, of quality.

That vineyard is us. God has been very careful with us, since the creation and has overflowed with us, with each one, redeeming us from sin to become children of God. And many times we do not give the seasoned and tasty fruits, but we give bitter fruits. That is why he has sent his Son, the heir, to welcome him and recognize him.

The drama of redemption, however, has been resolved with a surplus of love from God. What seems like a victory from sin, the death of Christ, God has made him the triumph of love and his mercy with us. In that death, which we have produced with our rejections, our forgetfulness, our sins, God has wanted to manifest a greater love. Christ has accepted that redeeming death as the payment of all our sins, and in this way by his resurrection he has opened wide the doors of heaven, to a new life, the life of children of God.

The evangelical proclamation is always an announcement of something new. Also in this field. When it seems that all means and all roads have been exhausted, God surprises us with an unexpected novelty. He comes to meet us with a favorable surprise of love, which we could not have dreamed. He has given us his Son. Not so that eliminating it, we remain with the inheritance of the vineyard, as the one that acquires the salvation by its own means and even with its own corruptions. How many times does man think he is going to fix the world with his tricks, even if they are full of sin? No, the salvation of man is not in man, but comes from God. God has given us his Son so that he himself is our inheritance and our treasure. But in this gift the initiative is always of God, never a product of our works. It is God's initiative that incorporates our free collaboration into his work, where we find salvation.

God's love for his vineyard, which is us, reaches beyond everything imaginable. In the acceptance of this love is our salvation.
