Colosians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.(kjv)

When the Bible says let the peace of God reign or rule in our hearts it's actually saying that let the umpire / referee of peace settle the issues of our hearts. In life we are moved by circumstances, the flesh, people and others. To be in the perfect will of God however, we have to be let by Him. One way to be led by the spirit is that inner peace he gives us when we're in Christ.. He is a referee within that helps us get through life without the hurts, pains and destructions of the world..
