Noah Obeyed!

MESSAGE FOR THE NIGHT!

EMPTY WORDS OR LOVING ACTIONS?

Noah was a great man of great faith. We all have heard the story of the time God flooded the earth because people were so wicked. God chose one righteous man, Noah, to be His instrument as He told Noah to build an ark--a very large ark.

Now imagine Noah’s situation. I’m sure people thought he had lost his mind building this huge boat--because God told him to. But Noah did it nonetheless. He had an active trust and belief in God displayed through his obedience.

When God calls us to do something, it is not a matter of whether we can do it; it is a matter of what God can do through us! Our role is obedience. But even before we can be obedient, we must hear and understand what God is asking of us.

Sometimes this part is more difficult than the obedience. Genesis 6.9 reads, “... Noah walked with God.” He spent time with God such that when God gave him Divine orders, Noah obeyed. Noah obeyed because he loves God (I say loves because I am sure Noah is in the heavenly realm singing praises to God right now).

The question we each should ask ourselves is this, “Do we love God with empty words or with loving actions?”
