When we come to Christ, God gives us new ways of thinking Him and about ourselves. We shouldn't behave or act like the worldly people. We as believers should be transformed, and this can only be done by the renewal of our minds

Renewing of our mind means changing the way we think as Christians, accepting God's opinions for our lives, and learning to think and talk like Him.

"But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations".(Psalm 33:11 NIV).

Nevertheless, one cannot understand the things of God or think like Him unless you have the right material to think on, which in this case is His world. And the words of God are found in the Holy Bible, available to all.

God's words are his thoughts.

2Corinthians 5:17:- "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here".

The way to transform, and upgrade your life is by the renewal of your mind
The mind encompasses the thoughts of man.

You have to manage and organize your mind to bring forth excellence, growth and greatness so keep in mind that as a Christian, it is our responsibility not God's. Renewal of mind towards profitable things concerning God not only determines character and personality but also results and quality of the life we live.

WHO ARE YOU???!!

Who you are is a function of your mind. The way you think, talk, act and behave is an expression of the contents of your mind. The Bible says:

Proverbs 23:7:- "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he".

How you live, relate, things you do and say are the functions of the things present in your mind. So to have a flawless character/personality (evidence of the righteousness of God), you must renew your mind, talking away all negative (things not of God) contents. With renewal comes increase in value, esteem, growth (spiritual and physical) and success.

*Your mental drive must be formatted and screen properly. You need to store only the things of God i.e your life and thoughts must be in alignment with His thoughts for your life.

THE MIND (UNDERSTANDING IT)

Only the word of God can shed light on understanding the mind because the mind is an intangible spiritual entity.

Hebrews 4:12 NIV
12 "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

The man is divided into 3 parts:

The body, the spirit and the soul.
The mind of a man is his soul.
man is a "two-fold nature" creation.

The outward man is the body and all 5 sense while the inward man is the spirit and soul of the man.

when you worry or are in doubt, it comes from your mind so let your heart be heart peace for your heavenly father watches over you. His thoughts for your are that of good.

Luke 24:38 (NIV)

"He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?"

SOURCES OF THOUGHTS TO THE MIND.

°Your own reasoning:- This comes from your environment i.e things you've studied at school, read on papers, saw on TV, heard on the radio or from someone else, etc.

°From satan:- When and if allowed, evil thoughts can be passes or thrown into your minds/hearts by Satan, the devil. All the thoughts he brings pollute and corrupt the mind thus bringing unbalance and turbulence to a believer. The thoughts from the devil are of destruction, failure and depression so we as believers must guard against such thoughts.

Resist the devil and he will flee......

°From GOD:- He communicates His thoughts to you THROUGH His word with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Finally brethren, I beseech you to study the word of God daily for only then can renewal of your mind be achieved. But remember that you cannot do it by your own human strength. Seek for help from the Holy Spirit and He will teach you.
