But today, I am going to talk in particular about a prominent person in the religious and Christian field who is part of a prestigious group called: Los Generales de Dios. Then I will briefly tell you the biography and achievements of Martin Luther, taken from sources that I will put at the end of his textual narrative, because textually, so they can see how his story was, and not alter his reality, corroborating his achievements and feats as it happened:

Martin Luther, the monk who changed the World

Martin Luther nailed his 95 famous theses in a church in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517. In a world in which people paid for the forgiveness of their sins, their ideas were very radical.

The monk Martin Luther only wanted to discuss the problems he saw in the Catholic Church. But what happened in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517 would forever change Germany, Europe and the rest of the Christian world. To understand the earthquake that triggered his 95 theses, it is necessary to return to the era in which he lived:
At the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Modern Age, the Christian faith was dominated by the Roman Catholic Church. The dogmas and norms of the Church directed the lives of people, who saw God as a critical figure who never let an error go unpunished.
Unexplained events, such as personal tragedies, bad harvests or even wars, were often seen as consequences of witchcraft or acts of people who had made a pact with the devil. When it was suspected that someone had entered into an agreement of this type, it was usually burned at the stake.
Martin Luther was born into a mining family in 1483. In 1501 he began his studies at the University of Erfurt. Four years later, he completed his master's degree and began studying law.

Then something changed Luther's life. In July 1505 he was caught in a storm and was struck by lightning. Faced with the prospect of death, he feared having to face God without being prepared, so he invoked Santa Ana, patron saint of the miners, and decided to become a monk.
Less than two weeks later, Luther knocked on the door of an Augustinian cloister in Erfurt and asked to be accepted into the order.

Your life as a monk

Driven by the search for a merciful God and by the fear of losing his life after death, Luther saw the opportunity to experience a full life within the walls of the monastery.
From the beginning, the young monk showed himself as a visibly obedient disciple. He fasted and prayed for six hours a day; I meditated and reflected. Later, Luther would write the following about his life in the cloister: "If someone managed to get into heaven as a monk, I also wanted to achieve it."
When he had not been in the monastery for two years, Luther became a priest. It was the year 1507 and theological teaching was at the center of their studies.

First experience with the sale of indulgences

In 1510, Luther was sent to Rome on a mission of the order of the Augustinians. This trip would end up being fundamental in his life. At that time the Curia was experiencing financial difficulties caused by the costly construction of the Basilica of San Pedro. To get money, church leaders introduced the sale of indulgences. The forgiveness of sins could be achieved in two ways: either by acting correctly, or by paying the Church.

The price of forgiveness was set according to income, and even those who had died could be rescued from the flames of hell if their relatives paid a few coins.

The search for God's acceptance

In 1512, Luther obtained his doctorate in theology and became a professor at the University of Wittenberg. At that time he was already well respected by his colleagues and superiors. Despite this, he kept asking himself what to do to achieve acceptance of God. No ritual or norm of the Church was able to answer that question.
He continued to read the Bible fervently and was especially attracted by the apostle Paul's letter to the young Roman church, in which he justified the blood of Jesus Christ. The theologian gradually understood what would become the core of the Reformation: God is not only a just judge, but also a father who loves the people he created and sent his son to overcome sin, which is what separates him. to the men of God.
Reading the Bible, Luther discovered that whoever believes in God and his son Jesus Christ receives the free gift of justification before the Almighty. The monk had finally found the answer to his question. Salvation is achieved by divine grace and only through faith.

The famous 95 theses of Luther

It began exactly in 1517 when Martin Luther published his famous 95 Theses, a very controversial piece that addressed issues related to the indulgences of the Catholic Church.
In October of 1517, Luther planned a debate on the practice of selling indulgences. Since no one participated in the discussion, he decided to send his theses directly to Cardinal Alberto de Bandeburgo, elector and archbishop of Mainz. At the same time, it is said that he stuck his 95 theses on the door of the Church of All Saints in Wittenberg, which at that time served as a kind of billboard.
The measure sparked a debate that shook the foundations of the Church. With the help of the relatively newly invented printing press, Martin Luther was able to spread his message quickly.
His thesis 86 was quite a declaration of intentions: "Why does not the Pope, whose wealth is greater today than that of any rich man, build the Basilica of Saint Peter with his own money instead of the money of the poor believers? "
On October 31, 2017, the 500th anniversary of the publication of the Questionnaire on the power and effectiveness of Luther's indulgences will be fulfilled. Until then there will be exhibitions and events to celebrate the event that caused the Reformation and the birth of Protestantism.
The movement of the Protestant Reformation is an important part of Christian history. It was the origin of a series of necessary changes for the Catholic reform. This movement originated in the sixteenth century instigated by the need to improve the Christian church.

Martin Luther lived scandalized by the corruption of the Catholic Church and, among other things, fought the indulgences, the remission of the penalties of sinners in exchange for a donation to the Church. Luther believed that salvation is only achieved through personal faith and direct reading of the Holy Scriptures and that anyone had the right to read and study them, without depending on the magisterium of the ecclesiastical hierarchy.
As you may notice, Martin Luther revolutionized the Christian faith, which in its time was dominated by the corruption of the Catholic Church with unfounded beliefs and indulgences for the sole purpose of obtaining personal benefits by abusing and torturing its faithful believers and not with the faith that God professes, inspires and deserves.

Martin Luther is indeed a great name to reckon with and also a role model and a great source of inspiration. He had a dream that one day the nation would rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed, and he worked towards achieving it.

Luther is a great character in the story that inspires us to defend the truth of the Bible, Luther published his Bible just 60 years after the invention of the printing press and thus became the first book of mass circulation in history and also marked the beginning of another revolution: the mass reading.

She is a friend @albaa, is a character of Christian inspiration, humanist and evolution. Thank you for your contribution to such an illustrious human being.
