Dear friends, Almighty God I believe Giants among the Great, we are all very important and we have a mission in life, but there are people who have set the goal of performing actions and deeds that have left giant footprints in our society and humanity, worthy of admiration, example and inspiration, since their achievements have benefited many from generation to generation, then I will give brief details of three of these giants of history that have marked and revolutionized humanity in various areas, take your own conclusions and opinions in this regard:

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Source

Nationalist leader

• Mahatma Gandhi was born in Porbandar, a city in western India, on October 2, 1869. His parents were Karamchand Gandhi, the city's prime minister, and his wife Putlibai Gandhi. His mother was one of the biggest influences of his life, because he taught him the advantages of vegetarianism, respect for others and tolerance towards different ways of thinking and other religions from the rest of the world.

• At eighteen he moved to London to study law at University College. When he graduated he went to Bombay, where he pretended to work as a lawyer, but the little success of that profession and his lack of experience made him not be able to practice. The year 1899 was hired by an Indian firm as a legal advisor in South Africa, where he lived for twenty years.

• He served as a stretcher-bearer in the army, where after witnessing the horrors and violence of the war, he decided to start his campaign for nonviolence and pacifism. During his campaign he was arrested several times, although he regained his freedom quickly.

• In South Africa he organized an ambulance corps, led a section of the Red Cross and founded some cooperatives to defend the rights of the Indians, and then returned to India.

• Once in his native country, he got millions of poor and illiterate Indians to form a mass movement to expel the British Empire from the government of India.

• After the First World War, the British Empire regained some control over India, and that prompted Gandhi to organize several strikes for which he was arrested.

• Gandhi led a humble life: he did not accept land, he dressed like the lower classes and he was a vegetarian. He never gave himself to luxuries or bad habits even though his fame grew day by day.

• At the beginning of World War II, India refused to support Britain if it did not grant India full independence. Britain first refused, but then accepted on one condition: that India and the Muslim League resolve their differences. That meant that India must be separated in two to get its independence, but Gandhi agreed.

• On January 30, 1948, Gandhi was on his way to the evening prayer in New Delhi, when he was killed by Vinayak Nathura Godse, a Hindu extremist who shot him three times.
