We all came into life as babies. We all were once 3 months old, 6 months old, 1 year old, 3 years old, 12 years old and so on. We never really remained babies. As we grew in time, we began to grow in age, size, maturity, responsibilities, reasoning and so on. We desired to grow and not stay on a spot. This also should be the reality of a Chirstian.

Galatians 3: 1-3 "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?"

Christains shouldn’t always stay at the entry level of the faith. As believers, we should not be on the baby level of Christianity for too long. We should learn to grow in spirit and in knowledge. In our pasaage above, paul rebuked the Galatians because they were still at the entry level of their spiritual lives. They kept depending on the laws of Moses for direction and this taunted their growth. They began in the knowledge and strength of the Holy spirit but regressed into trusting their own good works rather than in Christ. Gal 3;3

The believers in Corinth were almost the same. They were constantly quarrelling, focusing on personalities and their human efforts (1 cor 3). They kept on behaving like spiritual babies rather than mature believers.

This problem still exist in the present day church. We continue to take pride in our own human efforts and works instead of what Christ has done for and in us. God is not looking out to be impressed by our works.

Let us stop acting like babies who do not understand the simple concepts of our relationship with God. Let us stop the act of trying to impress God with our works but rather learn to look up to him and serve Him with a heart of love. We can always rely on the holy spirit to help us live in a way that would be pleasing to the Father and would honur Christ.
