Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

This is the 3rd Crown in this series of teaching on the rewards we could receive in heaven and what are the requirements of the recipients of each crown. As we see in the text these crowns are not automatic or something all will receive. All can receive, but not all meet the requirements.

This Crown of life is mentioned twice in the Bible and here I will quote the second location. These are the Words of the Ressurected Jesus.

Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Requirements in both verses is to endure.

• Tribulations
• Temptations
• Trials

Along with enduring are the requirements of loving the Lord and being faithful until death.

Making it to heaven and getting to see Jesus face to face is already an amazing reward. Having eternity with Christ and a forever time of worship, of the hook, off the charts bliss and joy. Wow! Many this is the one goal. “If I can just make it to heaven” This is a noble goal!

But some, like Peter exhorts are wanting an abundant entrance into the kingdom.

2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2Pe 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Imagine making it to heaven and seeing people with 1 Crown or 5 even more. And your own head is without a crown. Like I said in the earlier post on crowns, I believe we will, like the 24 elders cast these crowns as an offering of worship, at the feet of Jesus.

Every one of us have the opportunity to gain each one of these crowns. It will be determined as we meet or fail to meet the criteria while we live here on earth. This is not a condemning word, but an exhortation to go for more. With the motive to have something to offer Jesus.
