The entire focus of these scriptures is that Jesus didn’t “yadda”, know them. They had no intimacy with the real Jesus of the Bible. Salvation is by faith in the finished Work of Jesus. Many are following after a false Christ and many are basing their salvation on works. This is why they said they did all of these things and He still said depart from me. But the reason was not the works or lack of works, it was Jesus did not know them. God knows everything, so this knowing is something different. They had no intimacy with Jesus that produced life!
