RE: faith

I love this!

exclusively in light of the fact that Christ paid for it. It has no presence outside of the completed work of Christ.

It is curious and noteworthy that the Early Apostles did not ask Jesus to teach them how to work miracles. The two main requests from them was, increase our faith and teach us to pray. Both requests are sort of intertwined. Many have a definition of grace and mercy. My definition, which I believe is biblically based is this. Mercy is not getting what we deserved, or Christ getting the punishment we deserved. (Back to the benefits of the cross). Grace is getting instead what Christ deserves. We are in Him and benefactors or coheirs with Christ. In Him we are loved at the same level as the Father loves the only Begotten Son. We are seated with Him in heavenly places. He bore our sins, sicknesses and deseases. In Him, goodness and mercy follows us all the days of our lives.
Great post!
