Mar 10:28  Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

Mar 10:29 “And Jesus answered and said, “Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

Mar 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.””

Can we take this scripture literally?
Who is saying this?

It is Jesus speaking and it is in response to Peter saying, “Lord we left all!” Peter is asking the question they were all thinking.

I can tell you from my experience and from the scripture. My wife and I have sold all! Our circumstances were impossible for us to make a move like this. But the impossible is done for the Waymaker Jesus Christ!

If God has called you to full time mission's work, there will be no time when, in earthly terms it will look perfect. We have to watch and pray. We have to be ready to do some things our flesh will scream in desperation.

Php 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

In 2001 God called me to the be a missionary. I knew without a doubt this is what I was created for. Ever since I was born again I had a burden for lost souls that would keep me up weeping through the night many times.
There was a deposit made in my heart! There was a knowing in my knower! I had something tangible, yet invisible from God.
As with so many we read about in the Bible there was a call then a delay. We blame this delay on the devil and he may be used in the process, but this delay is part of the territory to refine us and get us ready. In other words, many times when we are called, we are not yet ready. Look at the great people of faith in the Bible. Moses, Joseph and even Jesus did not go into full time ministry until He was 30.

If you are young and you have a clear call, don’t let this discourage you, as the Apostle John was very young when found and called by Jesus. Most scholars believe him to have been 16 and then 19 at the crucifiction. He was the only Apostle at the cross when and where Jesus died.
We also know Paul’s exhortation to Timothy!

1Ti 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

The point is that each person is different and how God does something in each person is unique and how He fulfills the promise in our text will vary as many ways as there are people.

My wife and I went to the Philippines on vacation in 2013

My wife is a beautiful Filipina! Made in the Philippines.
Her family is half Muslim and half Mormon.

We came to visit the Philippines on vacation as she had not been back to her homeland for over 10 years.
We had 11 days in the country! The Philippines is the opposite side of the world from our home in the USA. 3 days we spent in Luzon, the areas of Manila, Agoo and la Union.
Then we came to where she was from. We were warned by friends not to come here.

As God calls you, don’t expect everyone to get behind your vision! There are always Sanbalat and Tobias types of people.

I have also found there are many that will make promises, even say God told them, then they do nothing and even work against you at times.

We had no ministry plans. In the states I was working in the engineering field, but I ministered by invitation in a different church most Sundays. I ministered in jails and on the streets. Most of my parish were homeless, prostutes and this discards of the world.

So we make it to where my wife is from and the second day here, I prayed for this little girl you see in all of my posts and God miraculously healed her. Hallelujah!

She is 5 years old now and in perfect health, very smart and beautiful!

The same day I led a lesbian to the Lord!
Next we were on the beach, just having a family outing. There were many others there. I preached the Gospel on the beach. 11 people were brought into the kingdom and baptized in water on the spot. 5 of the 11 were Mormons and all life for the real Jesus of the Bible today.

On vacation. No plans for ministry!

Next I was invited the next Sunday to preach in a Chinese church. I did not go out with my business card and ask to speak at places. This is the Work of the Lord! Where God begins to advertise for you!

Pro 18:16 “A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”

It is good to remember these things as there are also difficult times along the way. If you know you are called and you are where God wants you, when God wants you there. You have confidence!

Vacation over, back to normal life and God gives my wife a dream. The same dream many nights in a row. I believe every day in one week. 7 dreams!

In this dream she sees people drowning in the sea! She was like a lifeguard a,d coukd swim powerfully like an Olympian. (This is sort of humorous as she cannot swim). In this dream she swims out and rescues people, one at a time. Each time she gets to shore, she looks at their face and they are her Filipino countrymen.

For some reason she had not shared with me about the dream yet. I told her in my prayer time, God called us to the Philpppines. She shared the dream with us and we wept together.

At this time we agreed together before the Lord to answer His call!

When you are called by God, God will make it abundantly clear when to move! He then will begin to do the impossible in your life. He is no respective of persons. The details will be different, but the outcome. he will order your steps, flatten mountains and during the entire process, strengthen your faith.

I am going to end here and do another installment tomorrow! How God took care of all of the impossible obstacles in our way in the US and how He made a way for us at our new destination. What an exciting adventure to follow in the Footsteps of Jesus. Next I will tell you for sure, He meant this promise literally. Lands, mothers, sisters, brothers, houses and eternal life!

Isa 52:6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
Isa 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Isa 52:8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
