He was a Danish philosopher and theologian of the nineteenth century. He is considered the father of existentialism, for making philosophy of the condition of human existence, for focusing his philosophy on the individual and subjectivity, on freedom and responsibility, on despair and anguish.

Many of the works written by this philosopher are about religious debates, the nature of the Christian faith, the institution of the Church, the Christian ethic and the emotions and feelings experienced by individuals when confronted with the choices that life poses.

This man wrote under several pseudonyms with which he presented their views through a complex dialogue. He used to leave the reader the task of discovering the meaning of his writings because, according to his words, «the task must be difficult, because only difficulty inspires the noble of heart».

Faith is the passion for the possible and hope is the inseparable companion of faith.

Here we will share a fragment of one of his writings

Every Sunday the geese would gather near the feeder. One of them (the goose preacher), climbed with difficulty on the fence and spoke to his fellows about the glories of the kingdom of geese. It reminded them of how wonderful it was to be a goose. He made them see that they were a great inheritance, and told them about the wonderful possibilities that the future held for them.


Sometimes while he was preaching, a band of wild geese would fly over the corral, heading south, more than a thousand meters high and forming one, over the Baltic Sea, towards sunny France. Whenever this happened, all the geese looked up, excited, and commented: "This is how we really are. Our destiny is to spend all our life in the corral. Our destiny is to fly ».
