Walking on the sea

Biblical text: Matthew 14: 22-33

We must have a life of prayer, even Jesus himself had it, even the more we need it; it is good to dismiss the crowd, this means that we must put aside for a moment the people around us, or any activity that we are doing to go to meet God.
Do not feel alone and believe that we are going through the storms without the help of anyone: The disciples were in the boat, which was affected by the bad wind, but Jesus at that time was not physically with them, but was in the mount praying, and obviously even if we do not see God and believe he is busy in other things, we will think that he has abandoned us. He is always in control and looking for ways to act on our behalf. What would Jesus' prayer be like at that moment? While the others were at sea, I dare to say that his prayer was directed to what he was about to happen, as a good intercessor was asking for his disciples and from the beginning He had everything under control.
Do not give room for fear: if it is true, it is one of the tricks that the enemy knows best to use, not because he is efficient but because we allow it, since in the middle of any situation, it always makes us easier to think and wait for the bad, showing that our expectations are more inclined to negative things than positive ones.
Give up the doubt: this goes hand in hand with fear, unfortunately we doubt our own abilities and much more doubt God, even Peter knowing that Jesus was close to them, dared tell him to confirm if it was really him He walked on the sea, and yet Jesus had no problem in showing it to him. But there is something very key in this and it is that really what was causing Peter to walk on the sea? Maybe it was the power that Jesus or the faith that Peter had; directly it was the faith that Peter had that allowed him to take a few steps on the sea, but the faith did not last him a lot, his faith was not enough to reach Jesus. Peter did not arrive where Jesus was, because as each of us he was afraid and lacked faith.
We constantly ask for guidance, help, direction, confirmation and solutions to God, but when we have those answers we are afraid to face them even knowing that they come from Him, or we are afraid to undertake great things for our ministerial and personal life.

Imagine Jesus and hear him say that question Why did you doubt ?, I think the same question will be asked daily and several times a day for each of us, I can not imagine his face of bewilderment and sadness because we do not trust him as it should be.

Do you want to walk on the sea? Try it, with faith if in doubt, without fear, if fear: go ahead! , walk, set foot to adversity, to problems, to your enemies, that every step you take on that sea, is to get closer to God and what he has promised you and do not lack faith, so that you do not end submerged in the sea.

¨ But ask with faith, not doubting anything; for he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, which is carried away by the wind and thrown from one part to another. "James 1: 6 (Reina-Valera 1960).

Sort:

We can see a situation or problem as something that has no solution, and perhaps for us alone if it is, but not for Him. When we find ourselves in those situations, when the waves are lashing our boat and everything seems to be lost, it is time to look towards the horizon and see him approach. It is time to leave all doubt behind and start walking towards Him over the waters. It's time to say "what a beautiful day."

We can sit on our faith doing nothing, like we can sit on an unused talent, but we show our faith by taking action. Stepping out and doing something can be scary. Through confidence in God,
