The Word of God and Manna

in #steemchurch6 years ago (edited)
Excellent day my dear steemian friends and the entire community of @ Steemchurch In this opportunity I bring you a reflection on the Word of God and The Manna. When The Creator expressed that man would not live by bread alone, he just referred to the spiritual. The human being must not only eat to nourish his body but also must feed his spirit.

The book of Exodus 16: 4 tells us: "And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, I will rain the bread from heaven unto you; and the people will go out, and they will collect daily the portion of a day, so that I can prove it if it goes in my law, or not ".

Here appears the first time the Manna, a food that God sends his children, after crossing the desert so they do not die of hunger and has two connotations: feed the body, and coming from Heaven, it is the Creator who is making us Know how big it is and that the land you had promised them will soon be able to spend the night there.

God in his greatness had promised his people to provide the need for food in the desert. The bread that the Creator sent each day was not processed, since it came straight from heaven, and could be eaten at the time, cooked or baked.

God provides the necessities of daily food and his people had to go out to collect the manna every day. Likewise prayer, the word of God is our daily bread. Maybe sometimes we find situations that discourage us, or we are going through very difficult times and we think that we are going in the opposite direction of our dreams, until we may not feel loved or even ignored. So, we think that God is far away from us and His promises too.

But, it is not true He is very close to us and will never leave us or forsake us, as we see in:

Hebrews 13: 5. So we should not be discouraged, because even in the desert the Lord fulfills his promises and the needs of his people by sending heavenly bread, and we must only go out and obtain it.

God wants us to trust Him with our needs. Remember that the Devil tempted Jesus in the desert and he responded in:

Matthew 4: 4, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."

So the message that Jesus gives us is that it takes more than bread to stay alive. A flow is needed constant of the divine word.

John 5:39 tells us: "You search the Scriptures; because it seems to you that in them you have eternal life; and they are the ones that give testimony of me ."

Follow John in 6: 32-35:
"And Jesus said to them: Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. Because the bread of God is the one that came down from heaven and gives life to the world. They said: Lord, always give us this bread. Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will never be hungry; and he who believes in me, he will never thirst. "

We can see the analogy of the desert manna, the bread of heaven, and Jesus as the bread of life. The manna fell in the night on the dew and not on the dust (Numbers 11: 9) and Jesus is a gift from God, given to us sinners for free. There is a need, a daily provision and it is for us to collect it and eat it all individually.

To finish I leave the words of:

Jeremiah 15:16: "Your words were found, and I ate them; and your word was to me for joy and for the joy of my heart; because your name was invoked on me, O Jehovah God of armies. "

Sort:

As believers, we must surely read the Word of God on a regular basis and even study it, (@reliquary is a good place to read). However, the Bible is not merely a work of literature, a textbook or a book of help. self-employed God's goal in giving us His written Word was not for the purpose of learning more doctrines, ethics, and procedures, or even receiving inspiration. His purpose was that we should be fed.

"Nothing material is eternal, but the word of God never passes" This is the key so that the enemy does not gain advantage in us by the needs and we can resist the temptations.

This is @emiliocabrera, the word of God is eternal and strengthens in the most critical moments of our lives, when we think that we are adrift we find ourselves with the words of Jesus: "I am the bread of life, the one who comes to I will never be hungry, he who believes in me will never thirst. "

While it is true that we need bread to nourish ourselves, it is also important to pay attention to spiritual things, because the flesh does not profit anything, but the spirit vivifies
Good reflection @marciabo, God bless you

It is not only food to nourish the physical body, it is spiritual food, to savor the word written in the bible.
