I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as great people. There are only ordinary people committed to big dreams. When you commit yourself to a great dream, it will take something from you and help you to be bigger than you would otherwise be.
Jeremiah 29:11 says: "For I know very well the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans of well-being and not of calamity, in order to give you a future and a hope" (NIV). God's dream for you is personal. Only you can fulfill the purpose that God has planned for you. Your dream for you is positive. It will give you hope.
How do you obtain God's dream for your life?
You have to be willing to dedicate your life to God, committing yourself in advance to do everything he tells you to do.

Most people miss God's dream because they are not looking for God; who are watching what others are doing. If you are trying to imitate someone else, you are going to be a photocopy instead of the original that God made of you. You have to be more concerned about God's dream for your life than for the American dream!
The American dream and the dream of God are two very different issues. The American dream used to be quite affordable and quite simple. Today, the American dream is completely absorbing. It usually takes both the husband and the wife to try to get it. This life of hard work becomes your total focus.
If you want to take seriously about discovering God's dream for your life, you have to decide not to settle for the American dream. Are you going to choose the good life or the life of God? Materialism or ministry? The career of exhausting worries or the career of God?
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by a huge crowd of witnesses of the life of faith, let us remove all weight that prevents us from running, ... And let us run with perseverance the race that God has set before us"
(Hebrews 12: 1 NTV).
Commit yourself to God's dream for your life, and do not worry about being like everyone else.
