From an early age he attended a local Protestant church. At age 17 Alex formed the band called "Mission Life". When he turned 20 he managed to make his first album Time of the Cross, so they took their first tour in Venezuela. In 1998, he formed the Christian music label Misión Vida Recordi (MV Records). In 2001, Alex made his first exit from the country to Quito in Ecuador. His best friend is Ricardo Torres with whom he started his musical career and have played together in several concerts.
In 2002 it was a difficult time for the singer, since he was predicted a tumor in the vocal cords. These had to be removed, entailing a risk of losing 50% of his voice. The cysts were not removed and Campos, considering that God did a miracle in his life, one day before the operation, he decided to pray to God and composed the song "To the workshop of the teacher", that same day they took an X-ray where the doctors they were amazed to see that the tumor was no longer there. In the month of June of that same year the record label CanZion Integrity Distributions was interested in Campos, so that in November of the same year he recorded his second album Al taller del maestro.
Álex Campos married Nathalia Rodríguez, with whom she has two children: Juanita and Simón. In 2005 he released his album Como un niño, from which they filmed two video clips of the songs "Sueño de morir" and "Quiero, siento y pienso" in Saint Petersburg, under the CanZion record label. In 2006, Álex Campos launched his live album, Acústico, el sonido del silencio. On July 29, 2008, he released his sixth record production, Cuidaré de ti, which received a Latin Grammy nomination in the category of best Christian album in Spanish. He was also awarded six Harp Awards and five Vertical Awards from his native Colombia. He also made a video book entitled "From Crying to Smile" where he shows testimonies of his record projects, and his personal life.
His album Te puedo sentir was released to the market, recording live at the "Race of Champions" Youth Congress, with the participation of renowned artists (Marcela Gandara, Ulises Eyherabide of Rescue, Jez, Coalo Zamorano, Antonio Rios, and Dr. P ) in the city of Bogota. On August 17, 2010, he released his record production: Lenguaje de amor, produced by Juan Blas Caballero. His album was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards 2011 and was the winner in the category of best Christian album in Spanish, thus becoming the first Grammy by Álex Campos. In this year his most recent album came back to you with two more guests: Sara Borraez and Jesús Adrián Romero. The album was made by producer Kiko Cibrián. He also worked hard on a 3D DVD made in Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing songs from his recent album and songs from the previous album Lenguaje de Amor.

The fact that it will be done in 3D and launched in Blu Ray also gives it a very special touch, I will be traveling with all my team, and I am excited and looking forward to those moments, "said Álex Campos.
In 13 years of musical career Álex has worked with renowned singers of Christian music such as Marcos Witt, Jesús Adrián Romero and Funky; has had guests recognized on their albums as Jez, Ulises Eyherabide, of the Christian band Rescue Argentina, Marcela Gandara, Lilly Goodman, Coalo Zamorano, Fonseca, Danilo Montero, among others and has toured in more than 26 countries.
The Year 2013 Won a Latin Grammy. On November 19 at the 16th celebration of the Latin Grammies 2015, they would win the Best Christian Music Album award for "Desroche de Amor".
