Francesca Battistelli was born on May 18, 1985 in New York, United States1 in a family dedicated to music since her parents worked in musical theater. At the age of six she had the opportunity to appreciate the work The Secret Garden on Broadway, which inspired Francesca to pursue a musical career.

Her childhood dream was to become a ballerina at the New York City Ballet and she took dance classes for ten years. At age fourteen, he participated in an Orlando production based on the play Ben Hur: The Musical4 and at fifteen he joined a pop group called Bella, also from Orlando. With Bella, he had the opportunity to sing and dance, something that he liked very much even though the group disintegrated shortly afterwards. Battistelli attended a Christian youth camp, and that's where he decided to write songs.
In 2004 and at the age of 19, Francesca launched her first production: an independent album titled Just a Breath and in early 2008, she released the EP I'm Letting Go under the record label of Fervent Records through ITunes. The four songs that contained the EP were included in their debut album: My Paper Heart, which was released on July 22, 2008.6 From this album follows the radio single «I'm Letting Go», which entered the top 20 in The Christian list of the magazine R & R in May 2008, reached the tenth place in July of the same year and occupied the third location at the end of the year. In addition, it was the sixteenth most played song of 2008 on Christian radio stations. My Paper Heart debuted in first place on iTunes in July and remained in the top ten positions of the Billboard Christian Albums chart for four weeks.
