The Influence of the Christian in Society!
Blessings brothers! The topic that concerns us today: Influence of the Christian in society.
We live with people, and with them we know their habits, defects and virtues. In his work there are probably those who lie, others who speak only the truth, some carry everything in jest and others, for a few words are resentful. In environments of faculties sometimes, they are taken by bad influences and if we do not position ourselves as to that we are taken without perceiving that we act like our colleagues.
When it enters the river and we stand there, we are carried by the current, but if we swim, positioning ourselves against it, we will reach our final goal.
When we study the Bible in detail in the light of historical criticism, we perceive how magnificent and life becomes more precious through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Caesarea was an extremely pagan city, until today at its entrance there is a plaque with the sayings "pagan god of Greece bread" (half man, half goat). The Jews believed that the gates of hell were in Caesarea, because there was a cave that had the name of Hades gates.
I imagine the disciples following Jesus and perceiving that the path he took was exactly for that city, they knew that they were not welcome and did not even want to go in that place, because they knew about the evil influence that existed there.
But Jesus needed to show that He was the son of God and that that influence could not inhibit the truth.
When arriving at Cesaria, the Bible recounts a conversation of Jesus with his disciples.
Matthew 16: 13-20
"When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he consulted his disciples:" Who do people say that the Son of man is? "And they answered:" Some say that it is John the Baptist; others Elijah; and there are still some who say, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. Then Jesus interjected: "But you, who do you say that I am?" And Simon Peter answered him: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." To which Jesus said: "Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, because that was not revealed to you by flesh or blood, but by my Father who is in heaven, in the same way I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
Jesus makes a clear mention to the door of Hades, as if he meant that in that region a movement called Christianity had begun to happen and did not stop, He directly confronts the influence exerted there.
What is the door of Hades that you must build on the church?
I ask this question in a symbolic way, because bad influences are leading many to death, others absolute disbelief, and we as an extension of Christ, we have to position ourselves as regards that.
If the lie is the influence, build on it the truth, if it is prostitution, build on it purity, if infidelity builds on it fidelity, if it is unbelief, build on it your creed.
Be the extension of Christ, stand against the gates of Hades of that life and build upon them the Truth!
Thank you for reading! God bless you!
The darkness can not prevail over the light @lorennys, everyone who acts with an integral heart has the authority of God delegated, to change curse for blessing, poverty for wealth, hate for love, when we are according to his heart we will be demonstrators of all the splendor of his glory.
Amen dear @sc-v and apostle Darlenys. Thanks you!!!
Thank you for sharing this teaching of Jesus, recently read the reading of the gospel in my church and today thanks to your article I have another light of what Christ at that moment transmitted to his disciples. If in agreement with you that we must destroy the doors of Hades that corresponds to us. Receive many blessings friend @lorennys
Amen my brother Félix, Thanks you for comment
For Jesus it did not matter the condition in which the cities were, the simply with his authority, his example of truth and his love, influenced everyone around him.
Well said sister
