In the mountain and valley there is this god.

"But the land that you are going to possess is a land of mountains and valleys" (Deut 11:11)

The words "mount" and "valley" are read many times in the Bible. Today I want to share with you an understanding of those words that have brought much peace to my heart.

I have already heard that God is where he is sought with all his heart. But the text says that He will be found if sought with all your heart (Jer 29:13). It is one thing not to see God somewhere. Another is not to be there. And I have discovered the obvious: I may not be able to perceive His presence, but He is always "here."

Why do I say it? Because humanity faces highs and lows since its creation. It has been like this in the history of the Lord's Church and it was already with Israel much earlier. Times of abundance and times of hunger. Rest times and times of greatest persecution. Times of conquest and times of crisis. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 teaches us about the diversity of the times. Also in our relationship with the Lord, we live vigorous times of faith and times of spiritual weakness. For all of life, in some area of it, we will be climbing piles and going down valleys. Climbing again and descending again.

When everything is "flowing", I can rejoice with the action of the God of the mountains. But when nothing seems to make sense, I can also console myself with the God of the valleys. The mountain reveals the power of God (Ex. 24:18). The valley, His mercy (Psalm 23: 4).

At each sunrise we contemplate a staircase. In some times she invites us to go up. In others, he practically orders us to go down.

If our victories come from the hand of God for his glory, the apparent defeats and frustrations are his permission for specific purposes. Mountains and valleys are merit or permission of the Lord.

The good news is that the presence of God and his love are not prisoners to anything. Not even to our sins, even though they take us away from his presence. Even from afar, God will continue to love us. Our God is God of mountains and valleys. He accompanies us and sustains us at all times.

Jesus admired the faith of a centurion (who believed in a healing by a single thought of the Lord, at a distance - Mt 5: 8-10) and also stood by the disciples on the road to Emmaus (so plunged in disappointment of His death they could not recognize - Lk 24: 13-32). I do not want to put that hand on our heads and say we can live anyway. No way are we going to play with grace!

I just want to comfort your heart and ensure that even when you sit in a deep valley, without strength even to seek

God, He will be with you. And the intercession of the Holy Spirit will give him strength to climb the mountain again.

Habakkuk began to pray in the valley and ended up in the mountain (Hb 3). Believe that it will be like this with us!

Lovingly in Christ
