A few days ago, while reading the story of Samson, again, I discovered things that previously, I had not paid attention to and therefore, maybe I had not seen them. Some of these things, are the ones that I want to share with each one of you today. Samson, came into the world in the middle of a difficult time and great apostasy. According to chapter 13, it expresses the people of Israel had separated from God and because of their separation from God, he gave them into the hands of the Philistines.

For forty years, the Philistines had dominated the people of Israel. Samson was born and had developed under the influence and dominion of the Philistines. The consequence of this was palpable in Samson's life, there were many things that were not clearly defined; In their environment, in their customs and the traditions that they kept, they were very influenced by the Philistines. His parents, fought against all this and although they tried to influence the life of this, apparently it was not enough.

It is important to affirm that in times of evil and spiritual poverty, God wants us fathers to raise children of kindness and fidelity to God. Samson, born reserved for God, had a Nazarite vow - which implied that his parents, especially his mother, should abstain from contamination of flesh and spirit - so as not to harm his son. To abstain from contamination of flesh and spirit - it will facilitate the way for our children so that they are dedicated to God. According to Numbers 6: 1 to 5, the Nazarite vow requires a life dedicated to the service of God, in addition: to abstain from wine, cider, liquor or product of the grape, it also requires refraining from cutting and letting the hair grow, finally the Nazarite You should take care not to visit places where there are dead or people without life. Samson's mother had to abstain from all these things, to bless her son - which teaches us that we too must take care of ourselves and abstain from all kinds of evil to bless our children.

Samson was born - he grew up and came to youth, as I said before, his upbringing, his customs and traditions were highly influenced by the Philistines, so even though he was a Nazirite, and was reserved for God, and had a calling to be a judge of Israel This is not the reason why the temptations, the weaknesses of character and the bad decisions that led him to lose what is most valuable are kept.

Samson, a man of purpose, with calling and with a strength given by the Holy Spirit, was recognized for his leadership, strength, and ability - he achieved great achievements, his family was proud of him, he had the admiration of others, but he did not he realized that the enemy - the philistines would use their weakness for foreign women - as a strategy to identify the power of their force. The Philistines used all the friends, girlfriends, and wives and lovers of Samson to find out how Samson would lose his strength .... Through games, manipulations and using natural feelings - Samson declared his wife - a prostitute named Delilah - to permanently damage the life of the servant of God.

Samson, not only was caught, they also removed his eyes, they also isolated him from his people, and finally they dominated them with heavy chains. According to chapter 16:21 we see the process through which a person of God becomes a slave to men. The first step is to get caught - little by little they take control of your life, by means of influence, manipulation, play, feelings, needs - they make you your prey. Second, they take your eyes out - this means taking away your vision, changing your way of seeing things, stealing your ability to see what God wants you to see. It's as if you stay blind. Third, this step is a very common one, isolating yourself - separating yourself from yours, limiting your spaces, restricting your mobility and access to your freedom in Christ. - Finally, they tie you with CHAINS, the heavy chains are put on one, and the mobility is lost, we are added bonds that are not easy to break or get rid of them.

Clearly, this process does not go from one day to the next, but the last step is not reached, if it does not begin with the first, it is necessary for each one of us to understand that God called us to a vow of holiness with him, that he he demands that there be palpable and visible signs for others that we are dedicated to him, parents must influence their children, but children must be faithful and responsible because their call to influence prosecute and minister to others is clear. Having a call - does not exempt us from taking care of ourselves, especially our weaknesses because they can become the vehicle through which the devil - our enemy - steals and damages God's purpose. The process of falling was not from one day to the next, but the fall was overwhelming and disastrous for the servant of God.
