Itching Ears
I was one sitted beside a young man in a church, while the Pastor was preaching, the young man said 'This is not the type of message I want to hear and then few minutes later, he evacuated the church.
Without doubt we are in the age where people have heaped to themselves teachers, having itching ears! How else can certain priests approve of homosexuals and lesbianism and even conduct such marriages.
Gen.2:22 says God made a woman and brought her unto the man. As Paul predicted, it has come to a time when some are no longer interested in reading the Bible to know the truth but prefer to be descendants of Sodom and Gomorrah. We only have to read the papers to know what evil now pervades in the house of God.
There are self acclaimed Jesus and gods who hold their members to ransom and bondage to obey their idiosyncrasies. One of such saw his female members as bed mate and would set fire on any that dared to cheat him. Another called himself a god and made wives of members to sleep with him as a source of blessing. How can we fight these false teachers?
Paul told Timothy preach the gospel; be instant in season out of season, reprove,rebuke exhort and with all long-suffering and doctrine. We can only preach the truth and stay balanced if we befriend the Bible and study and study it. The holy spirit enlightens us so as to divide the word rightly.
We should not subscribe to any false doctrine no matter how holy and pleasant it sounds. We are cautioned not to add or subtract from the scripture. Be sensitive to the inner voice if God, be sober and vigilant. Whatever the Bible condemns remains condemned today.
