FAMILLE ET AMIS /FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Families need, more than ever, divine guidance. To the husband, God advises: "Rejoice with the wife of your youth", reminding him that his duty is to remain faithful to his wife (Proverbs 5: 18-20). To the wife, chapter 31 of Proverbs offers an extraordinary example of how to earn the respect and admiration of the husband and children. And, as expected, children are encouraged to obey parents (Proverbs 6:20). This book also emphasizes the value of friendship, and warns us that if we isolate ourselves from others, we will become selfish (Proverbs 18: 1). Now, although it is important to have good friends, we must be selective and not get together with those who can lead us astray (Proverbs 13:20, 17:17).

Les familles ont besoin, plus que jamais, de la direction divine. Au mari, Dieu conseille: «Réjouis-toi avec la femme de ta jeunesse», lui rappelant que son devoir est de rester fidèle à sa femme (Proverbes 5: 18-20). Pour la femme, le chapitre 31 de Proverbes offre un exemple extraordinaire de la façon de gagner le respect et l'admiration du mari et des enfants. Et, comme prévu, les enfants sont encouragés à obéir aux parents (Proverbes 6:20). Ce livre souligne également la valeur de l'amitié et nous avertit que si nous nous isolons des autres, nous deviendrons égoïstes (Proverbes 18: 1).
