THOUGHTFULNESS INSPIRES THANKFULNESS
Psalms 103:2
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits".
One of the keys that inspires thanksgiving unto God is thoughtfulness, which means being mindful of the blessings and goodness of God in your life.
You have to let your heart count the blessings of God in your life until you lose count, and abound in thanksgiving. This is how to make your life count. Think about the goodness of God, meditate on His love and patience towards you, and think upon His great plan for you which He thought towards you before the world began. Think about His unfailing love and faithfulness towards you. Meditate on His incomparable love towards you.
Don't let the devil paint God black to you. Don't let him show you whom God is not. He is a liar, and the father of all liars. Meditate on how God helped you kill the bear and lion, and let that help your sense of appreciation of Him. He helped you conquer the bear and lion, Goliath is not going to be an exemption.
Think about God's exploits in time past, think about how He lifted you from the miry clay, and set your feet upon the solid rock.
Refuse to forget God's redemption benefits made available in Christ Jesus.
Speak to your soul and stir your godly mind by way of remembrance to never forget God's goodness in your life.
The Bible teaches us that it is more convenient to give thanks than to murmur. Murmuring is not convenient.
Thanksgiving is convenient for the believer because it is the will of God.
Ephesians 5:4 tells us
that filthiness, nor foolish talking, norjesting, which are not convenient; must not be mentioned amongst us, but rather giving of thanks.
The reason many murmur and complain to God is because they are not mindful of His goodness to them; they are seeing the wrong things.
What do you see around you? Do you see the faithfulness of God or the terribleness of the devil? Do you see how God has been good to you or how terrible the devil has been to you?
You must learn to see the goodness of God. That's what it means to be thoughtful. lt is the will of God for us to give thanks.
Excellent post!
