THE PERFECTION OF GOD

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Hello fellow Steemians @steemchurch community, today I will be sharing with us one of the most important thing we should know as a Christian that we've claimed to be, Which is "the perfection of God".
God bless you as you read through.

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your. Father which is in heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)

Since God is Creator of the universe, all that He does is right, and all He says is truth, by definition. The world He created was perfect; the Word He inscripturated is perfect; every work He accomplishes is perfect; all the ways He follows are perfect, and the will He reveals is perfect.

             HIS PERFECT WORLD
"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31).

Of course, because of sin, the creation is now groaning in pain, but it was perfect as it came from God in the beginning. It will again be perfect in the ages to come, when God makes "all things new" (Revelation 21:5).

              HIS PERFECT WORD

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul" (Psalm 19:7). God has given us His inspired Word, providing perfect guidance for every need, "that the man of God may be perfect" (2 Timothy 3:17).

HIS PERFECT WORKS
"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he"

(Deuteronomy 32:4). Not only His work in creation but also His works of redemption and reconciliation--all His works throughout history.

                   HIS PERFECT WAYS

"As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him" (Psalm 18:30). His ways may not be our ways (Isaiah 55:9), but always, they are the best ways.

                     HIS PERFECT WILL

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that . . . perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2). His will is invariably right.

THE BIBLE AND THE PERFECTION OF GOD

The Bible is always consistent in its declarations of the moral perfection of God. Perhaps a helpful way to begin to understand God's nature in this regard is to consider the following verse of scripture:

(1 John 1:5) And this is the message we have. heard from Him and announce to you, that God. is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

Light and darkness are used in the Bible to contrast the difference between good and evil. Moral qualities and characteristics of all categories would be included in this vast spectrum. The concepts of light and darkness as they relate to good and evil in the Bible can be seen when considering the following scriptures:

Light in these passages is described as being fruitful and is associated with righteousness, goodness, love, purity and truth along with behavior that is proper. On the other hand darkness is described as being unfruitful and is associated with wickedness, lawlessness, hate, sexual immorality and other destructive and disgraceful behaviors. When considering the perfection of God as it relates to the original passage the fact that we learn that God is light, and that there is no darkness at all in Him, confirms to us the absolute moral perfection of God in all these things.

Perhaps Moses and the Psalmist summed the situation up well when writing,

(Deuteronomy 32:3-4) "For I proclaim the name of the LORD; Ascribe greatness to our God! {4} "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are law and justice. A God of faithfulness without breach or deviation, just and right is He.

THE DIMENSIONS OF PERFECTION AS REGARDS TO GOD.

  1. God is perfect in his works. Genesis 1:31

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

  • Everything God does is perfect, and they are for the purpose of his own glory.
  1. God is perfect in his words. Psalms 19:7-8

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

  • The word of God is faultless, and has capacity to produce the will of God in man. The word is God and as perfect as God himself. John 1:1-5

Thus God is our standard of perfection, and we must never set a lower standard for ourselves. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect".

God bless you.
