A natural flame thrower: it's not a dragon.

Happy Sunday to all my friends and brothers in steemchurch, let's not let our world be burned by the flames of contentions and gossip! It gives regret, see families divided by conflicts of rumors.

"Likewise, the tongue is a fire, it is a world of iniquity, placed between the members of our body, it contaminates the whole person, ignites the whole course of his life, being herself burned by hell." (James 3: 6)

We all carry in our body a natural flamethrower that is our language. Just as fire has its positive and negative side, we can also use our language for good or for evil. With the fire we can warm ourselves from the cold next to a bonfire or a chimney, we can light the candle and clear the whole atmosphere. In our house the fire is used to cook and prepare delicious foods that nourish our body.

However, fire can also cause fires, burns and destruction. Unlike the fireplace from which we approach to enjoy the heat, in the fire it is the opposite, we flee away from the fire. In the fire, the fire is harmful, it brings harm to the life and property that we possess. Everyone wants to put out the fire of fire, because he only brings harm.

That's how it is with our life. We can be people who heat the heart of our neighbor using wise words or we can be people who spoil and mutilate the others with destructive words. Our tongue compares with a small spark that can cause a big fire.

With our words we can promote peace or war. "Every man, then, be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger" (James 1:19). Faced with an affront or harsh words from a partner, relative, brother or friend, we will always have two options: redo in the same coin and cause a friction generating unpleasant explosions or be long, patient, responding with soft words and thus diverting the fury. "For we all stumble in many things: if anyone does not offend in word, he is a perfect man, able also to restrain the whole body" (James 3: 2).

The power to generate peace or war is in our language. The sin that God abhors the most is what sows contention among the brethren (Proverbs 6:19). It is that person who brings and brings "conversations", which twists to play one person against the other, which contributes to create enmities.

I conclude with the advice of the apostle Paul, in the book to Ephesians 4, 29: "There is no corrupt word that proceede out of your mouth, but that which is good for edification, according to need."

Thanks @ kristal01

In steemchurch, we are pleased by the teachings provided on our label!

Language affects all of life:

"He who keeps his mouth guards his life, but he who opens his lips ends in disaster" (Proverbs 13: 3).

If sister, you are right, we must take care of our mouths and avoid gossip and strife.

A world on fire; consequences of misuse of the language. That affirmation of the bible is profound.
