HUMILITY PAYS
Bible, the book of God knows the importance of humility, therefore calls on Christians to humble themselves. Firstly, let us consider what humility means.
According to Christian Bible reference, humility s a quality of being courteously
respectful of others. It is the opposite of
aggressiveness, arrogance, boastfulness, and vanity.
According to English dictionary, it is the characteristics of being humble, egolessnes and modesty in character and behavior.
Apostle Peter in his book said
1 Peter 5:6 KJV
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
From this passage, it was made known that there is or are blessings in humility. But to have it ṣe must genuinely live a life of modesty, mostly before God.
The Bible says the right hand of God is power but where the powerful hand of God is moving, we have to reference Him. Many disregard the presence of God therefore misbehave.
This is done in many ways:
Some believe they know it all. Wealth, they have it. Success, easily achieved. Therefore they disregard God, the giver of all.
Knowledge of this existence being given to some as a gift. But as, fat as they are concerned, it is a gene forgetting God the giver of wisdom and understanding.
Proverbs 8:14 KJV
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
Proverbs 16:16 KJV
How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
Position of honor is good but care must be taken not to misuse it. As they say power corrupt and absolute power corrupt absolutely. Position of authority is not made by God for whoever finds himself there.
1 Timothy 2:2-3 KJV
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
When all are done in reference to God, we get His lifting, the hour refreshing will come from Him, there will will be peace in the land, the citizen also will be happy and joy of the Lord will be shown on their faces.
God bless you as you humble yourself.
