Your Past, Your Present and Your Future

Man's life is govern by his past, his present and his future. Today is a reward for yesterday and tomorrow is the reward for today.

THE PAST

Some are being paid negatively by their past while some are being paid positively by their past.
Some are living in their past and it affects their present life and also hinders them from moving forward in life. The past is gone and cannot be brought back.
Isaiah 43 vs 15 to 18.

I am the Lord, your Holy One,
Israel’s Creator, your King.”
16 This is what the Lord says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
17 who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

What does God wants us to do concerning our past?

God wants us to simply forget our past because there is a new thing that God has planned for us. We cannot forget our past by nature but God is telling us that we should not allow our negative past determine our present and our future. Even if your past is very good God is saying he has something better for your future so forget all those things because he assures us of a better tomorrow.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

The only thing we can do with our past is to find our pitfalls and avoid them in the future. Also give thanks to God for your past and for your future because where there is life there is hope. You can't start a new chapter of a book if you keep reading the previous one.

THE PRESENT

God is more concerned about your present and your future. Today is a gift, it's a privilege God has given to us, what we decide to do today determines our future and also remember that today is a reward for yesterday be it positive or negative.

What does God want us to do concerning our present?

1} God wants us to give our life to Christ, Today is the day of your salvation because tomorrow might be too late.
Revelation 3 vs 3

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

2} God wants us to Sow the seed of love today, love your neighbor, love one another.
John 13:34-35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

3} God wants us to Live by faith and in contentment: believe what God is saying to you, be satisfied with what God is giving you.
2 Cor. 12:9-10

“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” …Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

4} God wants us to work and labour today for a better tomorrow, don't be among those that labour for the present and forget their tomorrow.
Lamentations 3vs27

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth

5} God wants us to watch and pray, the prayer you pray today is a seed for tomorrow. A wise man prays ahead and avoid trouble for tomorrow.
Matthew 26;41

41 Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

6} God wants us to sow Good seed in the kingdom of God. There's reward for Everyone who sows seed in the kingdom of God because a time of harvest come from the Lord.
Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

7} God wants us to Rejoice today. Let Joy fill your heart everyday of your life and you will have a pleasant day which will bring a better tomorrow.
Philippians 4:4

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

8} God wants us to Avoid distraction. All that glitters are not Gold, some things are not real the way we see them, everything will fade away someday so let's not be distracted by the things of this world.
Matthew 16:26

26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

THE FUTURE

Many people worry about their tomorrow while some live in uncertainty of tomorrow. Some go into depression because of worry about tomorrow, your present destination is not your final destination.
Matthew 6;25-26

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Why should I worry about tomorrow when God has assured me of a pleasant tomorrow. Do not be afraid of tomorrow, worry brings fear.

What does God want us to do concerning our tomorrow?

1} Trust in the lord. God wants us to trust him for tomorrow because he has promised us a better tomorrow and he never fails.
Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2} Give thanks to God for Tomorrow because he has promised us a better tomorrow. Give thanks to God for his promises for your life
1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

God knows us even before we were formed in our mothers womb, he has a plan for everyone, do not let your negative past affect the future God has planned for you.
