WALKING BY FAITH

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” – Hebrews 11:8.

Faith can be acquired. In order to grow our faith we must pay attention to what we hear or listen to. The word of God is our source of faith. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Therefore, the more you listen and read the Word, the more your faith increases.

The people you surround yourself with can help you grow your faith or kill your faith. The Bible says iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) and so does faith sharpen faith. Looking at the three Hebrews boys, if they were not thinking alike or they were not at the same pace with regards to their faith, they would have been divided when they were told to bow down to the king’s image.

One of the Hebrew boys could have said, “Brothers, let’s give in and worship the image otherwise we would die in the fire.” But Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s faith were unwavering because they sharpened each other over the years they became friends. Operating in faith attracts God.

We must not joke with our faith. Anytime your faith starts decreasing, anxiety, doubt and depression set in. Guard your faith with all jealousy because your faith determines how you walk with God. Your faith level affects your thought pattern. Move away from faith killers. Make an effort to grow your faith at all times, for it is your life support.
