Thirsty for God

in #steemchurch8 years ago
The Lord longs to satisfy your hunger and thirst for blessing. He will manifest himself if you come near and let him fill your life. The promises of the Lord are wonderful. If time and searches are blessed and prosperous, all your work is easy. Our soul is like our body, it feels hunger and thirst that needs to be satiated. The world with its cares wears us down, but He has promised to give us rest.

Restoration promise.

Psalm 42: 1-5 says: "As the deer pants for the currents of the waters, So my soul cries for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When will I come, and will I appear before God? My tears were my bread day and night, While they tell me every day: Where is your God? I remember these things, and I pour my soul inside of me; How I went with the crowd, and I led her to the house of God, Among voices of joy and praise of the people in celebration. Why are you cast down, O my soul, And you are disturbed within me? Wait on God; because I have yet to praise him, my salvation and my God.
This is a precious psalm that fills us with hope. Bramar is a despair out of bounds for drinking water. It is not to have a little thirst, but to be practically dying to refresh. It is said that deer eat poisonous snakes that cause high fevers, then they feel an exaggerated thirst. When we submit our body to very large efforts, if we exercise or we are in an environment too hot the immediate reaction is to seek to hydrate. We are different from animals, we are dissatisfied and we always look for something else, but in the need to drink water we are very similar.
Many times we say that we hunger and thirst for God but only by approaching His presence do we know how much it can fill us. We are aware of the magnitude of our thirst until we see the water in front of us. When I studied this psalm I discovered that every day I yearn for the Lord more and I keep looking for Him because I know that He alone can satisfy me.
          Proverbs 20:27 tells says:
The word spirit means conscience, that is, the instinctive sense of good and evil that produces guilt when you act in the wrong way. Your conscience tells you if you want more of God, but He has always been interested in captivating your spirit. So that you can approach with freedom to satisfy you, you must surrender your conscience and will. Let him deal with you and free you from all guilt.
              Bliss for the thirsty.
Matthew 5: 6 reminds us: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
We will not be satisfied until God fills us. I recently read the story of some fur traders in 18th-century Russia. They were cruel and bloodthirsty. They ravaged the villages where they were stealing. When asked why they committed such atrocities and did not fear either God or the Tsar who was the king of those regions, they responded: "God is in heaven and the Tsar in his government." With that answer they wanted to say that they did not care what happened to them because they felt alienated from all authority. In their savagery, they were aware of the existence of God, even though their life did not reflect it. Sometimes it happens the same, we know that God exists, we approach His presence but we are not able to hold on and let ourselves be filled properly. We feel that it is far away and it is unattainable, but we are wrong because He is close to each of us and longs for us.

If we really hunger and thirst for the Lord, we must allow him to be our life companion. Do not leave it in the church next to the pulpit every Sunday, He wants to accompany you wherever you go.

                    Divine justice.

In Romans 10: 3-4 we read: Because ignoring the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they have not been subject to the righteousness of God; for the end of the law is Christ, for righteousness to everyone who believes.

We must do God's justice, not ours. Seek the Word, absorb it and multiply it because your fruits are the proof that you drink in His waters. Do not get overwhelmed, He knows that your need is very great and he also knows how to calm her down. He wants to unburden your heart and take you to another level of blessing, so you must free yourself from your anguish and surrender completely. He will take you to the shore but only you can jump on your head and cool off. When you achieve it, take the commitment to take others to that pool of living water. Share your blessing with the thirsty.

Joel 2: 28-29 promises: And after this I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy; your old men will dream dreams, and your young people will see visions. And also on the servants and on the handmaids I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

The Holy Spirit has been promised to all. Jesus understands your thirst for God because he experienced it and now it is He who can satisfy it. If you received it in your heart, you already have the fulfillment and you must take advantage of it. By His blood we acquire the right to become children of the Heavenly Father and we are part of His body.

Congégate and seek to surround yourself with brothers who bring you closer to the source of eternal life because they have that same need to find you. It is important to be a great family in the Lord.

                        Spring of Life.

John 7: 37-38 says: On the last great day of the feast, Jesus stood up and raised his voice, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink." Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture says, will flow from his interior rivers of living water.

When Jesus said these words, the Holy Spirit had not yet come. But now we have the opportunity to receive without limits. Get nailed, do not be afraid of water. These rivers are there waiting for you to submerge and sate without fear. Do not stay hungry or thirsty, lose education and sanity for Him.

When I am in His presence I do not want to leave it, I feel brilliant and transported to another planet. That's the promise, take you further. Try a good relationship with your Father who vivifies and restores. Look for him, get close to the water source and drink until you're satisfied so you can help others who feel the same thirst. Thank your blessings and ask him to fill you from head to toe.

May the Lord Bless you and fill you with His presence and Be transformed from Glory into Glory. Happy and blessed day. JJPL (Johann. José Polanco Leal)
