Steemchurch:OVERCOMING THE DEVIL'S TEMPTATION
Hello steemians, it's a blissful day with the blessings or the living God upon our lives. Would love to share with you a word of God at steemchurch introduced by @sirknight.
Quotation (Matthew 4: 3 -4)
"The tempter came and said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread". But Jesus answered, "It is written, man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God"

For sure, you and I will face temptations this year. It's not a prophecy, but a reality and truth concerning life on earth. But while the tempter intended temptations for our downfall and evil, our God works behind the scene to turn it for our good and promotion.
While we are subject to temptations, the Bible is emphatic that we can overcome them. Because the grounds for our temptations have been known, for the devil used the same old tactics on our first parents, Adam and Eva, and on Jesus, our Lord. And though Adam and Eva fell for the temptations, Jesus resisted and overcame.
Though temptation remains one of Satan's powerful weapons, he uses it on our
- Needs or Desires - the need for food, for clothing, for success, to be rich, to be powerful, the need to live, and so on. We have many needs, legitimate and illegitimate one. Jesus had need of food, and Eva saw the tree was desirable for food. John says, it is the lust of the flesh, that temptations draw upon
. - Faith - the fact is everyone has faith in something, even the atheist does. The devil knows that whom we choose to place our faith becomes our "God", and placing faith in other than the true God and His words make the devil a winner, because you become his slave, knowingly or unknowingly. So he always works to undermine your faith in God and His spoken word, by discrediting Him and His words to be untrue and lies. He used that tactic on both Eva and Jesus. So don't yield to this temptation by putting God to the test, or by proving yourself to be who God's says you are or who men say you are not. Your state is not true measure and indicator of God's approval
.
Will - this is very important to the devil and God alike, because without our will they can do nothing. But how God and devil draw us in to deploy our will is very different. The devil therefore uses our appetite for the things of this world - being it fame, power, fortune or pleasure and our eye sight. John calls it the lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16).
worldly things
Eva saw the fruit to be pleasant to the eyes, desirable for wisdom, while he showed Jesus the kingdoms of this world, their power and splendor, which are very attractive to our eyes, and make us want to surrender our will and bow in submission or worship to him to get them, as many are doing nowadays (James 1: 14).
To overcome the devil's temptations, we should really feed on the written word of God, as man shall not live on bread alone but live also on faith in the Word, and whatsoever God appoints for him.
We should also learn to resist the devil and his temptation through the word, prayer, discipline and sensitivity to the guidance of Spirit of God. The Bible promises God's faithfulness to us, to keep us from temptations beyond our strength and ability to handle, but in every temptation, will make away of escape so that we can go through it and emerge winners, victorious and conquerors (1 Cor 10: 13)
As the days passes by ,know that you can overcome every temptation that comes your way or you will face this year. So prepare yourself to override your temptations and emerge victorious. May you not succumb to the lies of the devil, but to resist him and prevail.
May our God prove His faithfulness to you in every temptation you will face. May He empower you and cause you to stand firm when tempted. May His peace and blessing be your portion in Jesus name. Amen

Temptations come in so many ways, we love the way you analysed it. Talking about the way Satan tempted Jesus, he used food - which is viewed as a necessity. Jesus knew that he could survive without that, but without Go he can't.

Satan has a way of manipulating people but with the light of Jesus we have overcome
he also used political power of the world to tempt him when he offered him all the glories of the world but he refused
From Jesus' temptation, we see that he did not yield because he was vast in God's word. This is a fine read, that should be kept close to the heart.
Yes it should be held close to our hearts
As Jesus has promised good things in heaven....so does satan is trying to lure us into his camp...de question is by wat means...he ll also promise us with de tins of the world.no wonder day in and day out we continue to encounter new things.....am happt @johnsonkoranteng for drawing our attention on it..goodwork done..

I pray the Devil never wins a temptation against my faith.
Thanks for sharing
Amen
Jesus felt for a moment fear of what awaited him, but his heart fully trusted the Father and he could not tempt him. Jesus Christ is our refuge and salvation nobody comes to the father without him interceding. Good night
