If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, the One whom Isaac fear, had not been with me, you would certainly have sent me away empty handed. But God saw how I was oppressed and how hard I worked and He rebuked you last night
(General 31: 42)

Most people are just wicked. And they manifest it by manipulating people for their own selfish gain and by taking advantage of people they ought to be role models to, people they ought to invest into their lives, and people they ought to help and show kindness to.

Question: Are you such people? And do you have such tendencies in you?

I encourage you today to repent and to embrace the love of Christ which would enable you to express true love to other people and the rest of mankind any time and anywhere. If not, then you are setting yourself against the overruling hand of the living God.
Jacob became an unfortunate victim to such a man, who also happened to be his uncle. He has gone to Paddan Aram, Syria, to Laban, upon the counsel of his father Isaac. And he served Laban for 20 years. 14 years of hard labor as dowry for his two daughters in marriage, and 6 years to raise a seed of sheep and goats as his pay for his livestock business. And in this 20 years, Laban changed Jacob's wages ten times, not as pay increment or raise but to cheat, dupe and deceive him. His goal for doing that to Jacob was to send this humble, hard working and would be son -in-law away empty handed. Evil at work.
By wisdom, God's grace and protection, Jacob rather outwit him and ran away with what he has genuinely and truthfully acquired. Laban couldn't handle that and hotly pursued him with a formulated intention to harm him and strip him empty. It's there that Heaven intervened and put fear and terror in Laban. And when he caught up with Jacob, he confessed, "It's in my power to do you harm, but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, be warned that you speak to Jacob neither good or bad nor do him any harm (Gen 31: 29). We thank God for that timely intervention.

You see, God did that for Jacob, not because he was special or perfect, but because God saw the wickedness of Laban, and his evil intentions to manipulate, abuse and use people for his own selfish honour and glory. Jacob himself affirmed that God saw his affliction, oppression and misery, and how hard he has toiled, labored and worked day and night for him, but he had overlooked them and God rebuked him for that and kept him from harming him and sending him away empty handed. That is the justice and goodness of God and that you and I would also not toil and suffer in vain nor go empty handed, no matter who is manipulating things against us or intended to harm us, because it's in his power to do so.
So as you go through the rest of the year, be encouraged, dear brother and sister, that it is well and that the Just God, who show no respect for persons will in the end fight our cause and cause the evildoers to be broken, failed and perished just like Leban. They would loose, not you because the good Lord is your helper and defender.
May you come to the end of this year in full, and not empty handed and may our God remove all evildoers and wicked entities standing on your way against your progress, promotion and prosperity. May our God terrify them in their dreams and sleep on your behalf in Jesus name. Amen

We give glory for you are the Lord of hosts and the God of justice. May you stand up on our behalf and for our cause. Lord see our oppression, affliction, misery and suffering, and compensate us. Father, outwit all our enemies and cause their evil agenda, and wicked intentions towards us to be broken and.perished. Reach out to us this season and the rest of the year with what is due us from your storehouse and throne of blessing and cause all those who have stolen from us, denied us our blessings and have wasted us to return them to us in hundredfolds. Thank you Father in Jesus name for answering our prayers. Amen

I will not go empty handed for the defender of Jacob is with me. Amen
