Steemchurch :Life Changing Encounters: Being Sensitive To The Lord
Quotation (Acts 8: 29 -30)
Then the Spirit of the Lord said to Philip, Go up to the carriage over there and keep close to it. So Philip ran to it and heard the Eunuch reading from Isaiah the Prophet. Do you understand what you are reading, he asked
I love people who use their lives as a launching pad for others. I met one of such people in my first year in the college.
I have passion for teaching, so in my fellowship group on Campus, I joined the Bible Teachers group. And in one of our preparatory meetings, I heard a testimony, that changed my life forever.
It came from a brother, in his final year, and his aim was to help us to be sensitive to the Lord because, he believes, the Lord has assignments for us on Campus.
He said, it was examination time and he was preparing to write a paper the next day, but the test was in the afternoon and since he had much stuff to cover, he decided to spend the night learning, then sleep in the morning. And around one or two am, the Lord spoke to him. (Let me explain this. He had this strange prompting, just like when you are thirsty or hungry or want to urinate. That kind of feeling in your heart, is called prompting, or impression, and most of the time is from God and it carry a message). This prompting came with a room number in the Ladies Hall of residence (Adehye Hall) and he was supposed to go there. The brother said, he dismissed it because at that time the gate is closed and it was against the college's rule to loiter there at that time. So he ignored it. Just then the same prompting came again (it was coming to him like birth pains, the women understand this). He thought about it but continued learning. Then it came for the third time, this time very strong and forceful. So he got up and made his way to the place.
Strangely, the gate was not locked, so he entered the Hall and made his way to locate the room. At the door he didn't know what to do, to knock or what? He said he held the handle and to his surprise the door opened and he saw a strange, shocking sight that would forever hunt him and also change him. A lady in the room was committing suicide, by hanging herself. He jumped and shouted and grabbed hold of her. He said, he didn't know what to do? To call the police, wake the people up or what? But he remembered speaking softly, calmly and lovingly to lady, and brought her to his room. Well, I want to cut it short here, but the core point is that he saved her life from imminent death, just by being sensitive, and obedient to the leading of the Spirit of God. Hallelujah.
This changed me, because in early part of my walk with God, I have missed such promptings and the person died. The prompting came to me three times just like the brother, the first day, it was 'go and talk to this boy about me'. I ignored it. It came the next day. I ignored it again. The third day, it was so strong and forceful, and guess what, I ignored it. The prompting never came again. The following day, I was in the house when my junior brother came and told me that that boy in our area is dead. Come and see the shock, the guilt and the shame. So when the brother related this incident to us and called our attention to sensitivity to the Lord and His assignment for us on Campus, I knew what he was talking about, because I had first hand experience.
And I am glad that the lady's life was spared. And also that Philip, one of the deacons in the Church n Jerusalem, followed this same prompting from the Lord to bring an Ethiopian government official to the kingdom of God.
And we should likewise learn to be sensitive to the Lord and be obedient to His assignments for our lives. For most of the time, they are about life and death, eternal life or eternal damnation, and your sensitivity and obedience are a game changer.
So as you go through the day and live life, be sensitive to the Lord for He has a life saving, a game changing assignments for you.
May this story change your life forever and may it cause you to be sensitive and obedient to the Lord in Jesus name. May the Lord cause abundance blessing, peace and favour to be upon this month in Jesus name. Amen
pray with me
Thank you Father for your promptings and assignments Help us to be sensitive, Lord and make us obedient to you. May this new month be blessed, filled with your peace, favour and power. Continue to give us life changing encounters in Jesus name. Amen
Shalom, life and grace to you

Very powerful post johnsonkoranteng. God is always trying to prompt us toward things. Blessed are the ones with eyes to see and ears to hear. It is not always easy to see, hear, and obey these things unfortunately.
Yes it's very true, and tanx for stopping by
