Between hearing and serving Christ
The Bible tells us a story between two women who present different visions in an unexpected visit that Jesus makes with his disciples
These two women were Maria and Marta, two sisters who lived in a village in Bethany and were faithful and devoted to their Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus loved this family and had a close relationship with Lazarus one of his brothers who had risen from four days of death
When Jesus arrives at the house of Martha and Mary immediately these two women are activated to attend to their lord one prostrates at his feet and the other worries about serving him in the food because Jesus was accompanied by his disciples Marta is supposed to he cared about making him food
the expression "cared" shows us that Marta's concern was to be a good hostess, the one of Mary being a good disciple, the one who "heard her word"
Jesus does not reject Martha's hospitality but worries about his confusion and his excessive dedication to his many things, which led him to underestimate the only thing that really needed this is to listen to the word of Jesus
Devotion and duty on the Balance Marta and María
Many students of the word have tried to measure or put on a balance the attitudes of Marta and María to specify which of them did betteror which took the best part
Many people think that only Mary did well before the Lord and that Marta did it wrong because she only thought about earthly things, however both women carried out love actions towards the Lord Jesus Christ because they both served Mary in hearing and Marta in the service and both are important
We must discern what Jesus really meant to Martha, When Martha complained to Jesus, that Mary was not helping her with the chores of the kitchen, the gentleman reminded her tenderly "Mary has chosen the best part"; that is, to sit at his feet to learn from him
In addition many tend to distinguish Marta as "the woman" practice ", and Mary as" the spiritual woman ", however, the scriptures indicate that Marta also sat at the feet of Jesus and that Mary also served
Both women reveal great spiritual gifts, through which they lovingly served God
