Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all

In our opening Scripture, David by the Holy Spirit reveals the source of riches, wealth and honour. He tells us that riches and honour come from God. It is in God's hand to make great and to give strength unto all. Strength in context speaks of riches and honour. It is vain looking in the wrong direction and to the wrong persons to make you wealthy. The government cannot give you true and enduring riches and honour. Don't get frustrated that the government is not doing enough to help you up; don't blame the government for things that are not working around you. Riches, honour and greatness come from God.

Remember what God told Abraham in Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” God made father Abraham great, influential, wealthy and honourable. In 1 Kings 3:13, God told King Solomon ’And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.” God did not only make King Solomon wise and great He also gave him both riches and honour. God is the source of all good things; every good and perfect gift comes from Him. Nothing of evil is sourced in God. You can lean on and trust in Him to make you prosperous.

Ecclesiastes 5:19 tells us that ”Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the giftofGod.” Not only does God give both riches and wealth, He also gives the power enjoy them. Yes it is important to believe in the dignity of labour, nevertheless we must recognize that favour and power to get wealth comes from God. This understanding frees you from being yoked to people and the financial systems of the world. Your expectation comes from God, not from man, neither from the systems of the world; therefore follow God's ways of doing things, and refuse to lean on your own understanding.
