(John 2)
Jesus turns water into wine

2 Three days later Mary, the mother of Jesus, went to a wedding in a town called Cana, in the region of Galilee. 2 Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.

3 During the wedding party the wine is over. Then Mary said to Jesus:

-They do not have wine anymore.

4 Jesus answered him:

-Mother, [a] that's not our business. The time has not yet come for me to tell you who I am.

5 Then Mary said to the servants: Do whatever Jesus tells you. 6 There were six large jars of water there, of which the Jews use in their religious ceremonies. In each tinaja they fit about one hundred liters. 7 Jesus said to the servants, Fill those jars with water.

The servants filled the jars to the brim. 8 Then Jesus said to them, Now, take out a little and take it to the person in charge of the party, so that he may prove it.

They did it. 9 The person in charge of the party tasted the water that had been turned into wine, and was surprised, because he did not know where the wine had come from. But the servants did.

Immediately the person in charge of the party called the boyfriend 10 and told him: Always the best wine is served first, and then, when the guests have drunk enough, the ordinary wine is served. You, on the other hand, have left the best wine for the end.

  • Excellence is a talent or quality that is to do something extraordinarily good, is to do more than what is normally normal

To explain what it is to be excellent it is necessary to know these 3 points as:

  • Do as the father commands

  • Quality control makes you excellent

  • the best for the end

  • these 3 points will help you to be a person with excellence. When we speak of excellence we can see that we have the best example of all that is Jehovah our Father who is perfect and excellent and our Master par excellence Jesus of Nazareth. For this reason this verse is the best to explain excellence.

  • So the first part, do as the father commands is that if you can observe this part of the biblical passage. 2 Three days later, Mary, the mother of Jesus, went to a wedding in a town called Cana, in the region of Galilee.
2 Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. **
3 During the wedding feast the wine is over. Then Mary said to Jesus:
    - They do not have wine anymore.
    4 Jesus answered him:
-Mother, [a] that is not our business. The time has not yet come to tell you who I am.
5 Then Mary said to the servants: Do what Jesus tells you.
We see that Jesus' mother gives him an order, and Jesus being the Son of God and even though He did not even have to work miracles because it was not his time Jesus obeyed the voice of his mother Maria. And to begin excellence we must be obedient in everything God commands.

  • It teaches us that obedience is the main basis for becoming an excellent person.

  • Now the quality control is also essential to reach excellence, Jesus when he obeyed the order of his mother Maria the command and gave the orders of what they did with the jars.

6 There were six large jars of water, of which the Jews use in their religious ceremonies. In each tinaja fit about one hundred liters. 7 Jesus said to the servants, Fill those jars with water.
The servants filled the jars to the brim. 8 Then Jesus said to them, Now, take out a little and give it to the person in charge of the feast, so that they can show it. They did it.

After they did what Jesus had commanded and the wine was ready, what did Jesus command to do now? He told them to take out a little and take it to the head chef who is an expert in wines. Now what is it that I command Jesus to do? That was a quality control that Jesus was doing to confirm that the wine was good and excellent before being served at the party.

Everything you do first quality control is what will make you excellent, for example: If you plan to start a food business first test how you will stay and so you can ensure if it is right or missing some season , as with the study if you submit an exam before handing it in, check it with caution to be sure you did not do something wrong, those details will make you excelnete. It is the same thing that Jesus ordered to do with wine.

  • And the best thing for the end is the culmination of all the steps you are taking to reach excellence and, this last point makes us know that everything we do in excellence and obedience will have the best result at the end of everything.
9 The person in charge of the party tasted the water that had turned into wine and was surprised because he did not know where the wine came from. But the servants did it.

Immediately, the person in charge of the party called the boyfriend 10 and said: Always the best wine is served first and then, when the guests have drunk enough, the common wine is served. You, on the other hand, have left the best wine for the end.

source

  • In the end everything went well better than good excellent. Jesus practically broke the rules or the custom that always the best wine was served at the beginning and at the end the common wine is served, what happens Jesus did and he left the best at the end, he sees that when the master tries the wine he is surprised that That wine being so good and excellent has been left at the end of the party which means that excellence must continue and must be done until the end of everything because it will be the best wine, that is the best result for your life and you will thrive in what what you do

  • The key to being excellent is obedience and listening to advice to do well.

and excellence will make you an extraordinary person, you will mark the difference that those around you will be surprised by what you do, excellence is about making an extra extra than what they ask you to do.

So let's start practicing obedience and excellence because it is the one that will take you to another higher level and higher each time only excellence, gives that extra extra so that the end is all the best of the endings.

Jesus didn't obey Mary. If you look at the Bible he never calls her mother. Mary had no undue influence on Jesus. She has no influence on him today either.
