THE MINISTRY OF GIVING -PART 2 >THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING >
Apostle Paul quotes Jesus Christ as saying,
"It is more blessed to give than to receive". Acts 20:35 (NLT)
Today in the second part of this lesson on Giving, I would like us to digest the importance of Giving because it is the importance of Giving that makes the above words of Jesus Christ true.
In my previous lesson, I explained the principle of Giving and so whenever we give, we bring that principle into effect.
The importance of Giving is beyond just been blessed as the bible verse started above. In fact Paul gave us a true meaning of the above scripture and I want us to know the reasons why those word of Jesus Christ on giving are true.
And it is the importance of Giving that makes the above words of Jesus Christ true as I have stated earlier.
1Cor 9:12,14 (NLT)
So two good things will result from this ministry of Giving - the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.......... [when that happens,]
They will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you".
So there are two good importance of Giving, one is to the receiver and the other is to the giver.
'God is never bais, he is always fair to everyone'.
People's needs are met when we give a thing or two to them, be it cash or in kind. How joyful it is to be able to meet someone's needs?
Our needs are most important to us than our wants and so if through giving we can meet the most important thing in somebody's life than that is very great.
Beloved, today I strongly urge you to give something little to someone so you can meet their needs in life and God would be truly grateful to you.
Let us all look for an opportunity to meet someone's need today or within the month.
'Meeting the needs of another person means putting smiles on their lips'.
Peoples have alot of needs that they need someone like you and I to come to their aid.
Those in hospital beds needs a little help to get back on their feet, those in the prisons are crying for donations to satisfy their empty stomachs and meet their health needs, those that are physically impaired needs a little tokens from us in order to make ends meet whiles widows needs a little assistance to cater for their children.
It is very pity and sad to see that some people barely take three square meals a day whiles some almost go to bed on empty stomachs. Some kids wake up in the morning not knowing where food will come from for the day, Hmmm.
People are indeed suffering and that is why God urges his children to give in order to meet the needs of the needy.
I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to our able and hardworking leaders of @sc-g to look beyond education and extended a helping hand to those in hospitals and prisons especially the children and pregnant women.
Secondly, if we give to the poor and needy, the bible says "They will pray for you (us) with deep affection".
I love the phrase 'with deep affection'.
My brother, how does it feel to know that people deeply pray for you whiles you are out there doing something? Imagine how it will feel like if other people help you solve your problems or achieve success through their prayers? How will it feel if through your giving, other people will fast for you and do spiritual battles on your behalf whiles you are asleep?
All these and many others are the blessings that Jesus Christ says you will receive.
The people whom you give to will always pray that you succeed in all your endeavours and as a result, you will always excell in every area of your life.
My dear it is indeed more blessed to give.
This is the good example that our noble leader @sirknight is doing to the world through the blockchain and as such it will always gladins his heart when he sees his followers doing same in their respective communities.
Through the giving ministry of our great leader, the @farms and SESP has been born and millions are and will be benefiting from these steemchurch projects.
May @sirknight be richly blessed from the throne rooms of almighty God.
Beloved let us be like John Wesley who lived by the principle that,
Earn all you can
Give all you can
Save all you can.
God bless you for reading and stay tuned for the third part of this topic.
Your message is deep. Indeed we need to cultivate the act of giving for it is said "we receive more blessings when we give than to receive"
