More He (Jesus) callabá and nothing answered. Mark 14:61

Sometimes, silence is the best response to a false accusation. At other times, we must talk.
When false witnesses accused Jesus in front of the Sanhedrin, "He was silent" (frames 14: 53-61).

It would have been useless to defend himself. He was also fulfilling the prophecy of (Isaiah 53: 7). However, some time before, during his ministry, the Lord rebuked the Pharisees and challenged them to prove that He had sinned (John 13-59).

A pastor left his ministry in a church because members of the congregation told lies about him. Maybe he thought that defending himself was not a Christian attitude, and, in certain cases, it is like that.
Sometimes as Christians we will be judged, slandered and we will understand why we should be silent when we have to speak and when we have to speak, this I have learned over time.

Not saying anything can allow the perverse to go ahead with their malignancies. However, if the Spirit of God leads us to remain silent, or if we simply want to try to safeguard wounded pride, we must control our language.

Are they accusing you falsely? If you feel it is useless to discuss or if your pride has been hurt, ask God to give you the grace to say nothing. But if the perverse ones, the oppressors, worry about you, there is a silent weapon called prayer, rest in God, pray to those who curse you, and await the answer from heaven. And if you feel better talking, do it, as the Spirit directs you, but do not let them silence you, talk!

Silence can be worth much, do not break it, unless you can say something more valuable!
