DAY 41: BE LIKE THE KNIGHT_HUMILITY
There is a difference between thinking less of yourself and thinking of yourself less. All in an attempt to be humble, most persons have belittled themselves and some have decided not to be humble just because they think that is humility. But what really is humility?
Rick Warren in his book The Purpose Driven Life said Humility is thinking of yourself less, but what does that mean. The idea of thinking less of yourself which is reducing your mind capabilities, belittling yourself which I am sure those are not the persons God was going to give grace to, when James talked about God giving grace to the humble.
James 4:6-7 (KJV) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Humility can be said to be vertical and horizontal, by vertical, I mean humility in making request, supplication, praying, praising, worshipping God and all that has to do with approaching God. And the Bible talked about coming boldly to the throne of grace,
Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
therefore there is a difference between boldly and arrogantly, which is the manner of many in approaching God, thinking they are being bold. So being humble does not mean you should not be bold either. Now horizontally, has to do with approach to others , like your classmates, your colleagues, and so on.
