Tessy is sick and goes to the hospital, the doctor gets to see her and offer his prognosis and after tests and checks, he prescribed drugs for her which should be taken over 5 days, he promised her she should be a lot better by the time she returns for routine checks.

Tessy returns after 5 days and this time, she was feeling worse, looking so pale and near dead, the doctor looks at her with worry in his eyes and this conversation ensued.

Doctor: Hey Tessy, you don’t look too well, how are you feeling?

Tessy: (sounding very weak) I feel so terrible, my head aches, my legs are so weak, oh God, i think i’m gonna die.

Doctor: Have you been taking your meds?

Tessy: Emm, not really, i wanted to, but i keep forgetting, took some days, missed out on some. (crying) i don’t like drugs.

Doctor:(looking bewildered) How would you feel better if you don’t take your meds? Only applied medication can work…

Have you read so many powerful miracles that occurred in the bible?

Have you seen so many promises attached to the scriptures?

Do you then wonder why we seem to have a church filled with people who hardly experience God’s power and makes you ask if God’s promises actually works?

The answer is simple.

Same way Tessy couldn’t get better because she wasn’t applying her medication, same way The Word won’t work if you don’t thoroughly apply it.

Hear this:
God’s word is not for quoting; it is for living. It is not for keeping; it is for eating. It is not for memorialization, it is for actualization.

In simpler terms, God’s word only works if you do them.

If God says a thing, He’ll do it. Just keep your end of the covenant and He is compelled to do His part.
