This are lessons you can learn from the parable of the ten virgins...

I am sure most of us can still remember the parable of the ten virgins in the bible, of which five were wise, and the other five were foolish.

We were able to differentiate the wise virgins from the foolish ones based on the extra oil five of them had.

Just like we have the foolish and wise virgins, we also have wise and foolish Christians. The foolish ones are those that started out well, but at the end of the day did not succeed because of a little challenge.

The wise ones are the ones ready to face any challenge because they are fully prepared.

The foolish virgins depended on the other five to give them oil, but when it was not possible, they had to go outside to get it, an action which resulted in them missing the arrival of the bridegroom.

In line with that, one of the signs of foolishness is depending on people without having another means of support. It should be noted that not being prepared for emergency times has lead to the destruction of a lot of people.

Use your time well
The first thought after I read the story of the ten virgins recently is, what were the five foolish virgins doing when the other five were busy getting extra oil? I am sure it was something irrelevant. It should be noted that the ability to do the right thing at the right time is a sign of wisdom.
Be prepared! Anything can happen at anytime
As we all know, it was immediately the five foolish virgins stepped out that the bridegroom came, and that was how they missed out on the wedding despite all their efforts.

He did not come while they were waiting or after they had gotten the extra oil, rather, he came at the time when they were not expecting him. That is the same as what happens to people. They would be waiting for a particular thing, but at the time when they are about to hit the jackpot, they would give up or would not get it after missing an important detail.

It definitely pays to be proactive because only people that look ahead use their heads well, and nothing makes one distinct than instinct.
