TOPIC: BATHING

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

By the end of the lessons, the pupils should be able to:
i. Explain what is bathing
ii. Mention bathing materials
iii. State steps in taking a bath
iv. Mention when to wash our body

WHAT IS BATHING?

Bathing means washing the body thoroughly with soap, sponge and water.

REASONS FOR WASHING OUR BODY/ BATHING

The following are the reasons we bath:

1. We wash our body to remove sweat.
2. We wash our body to remove and avoid bad odour.
3. We bath so that our skin will be free from germs.
4. We bath to look healthy and smooth.
5. To make our body neat.

MATERIALS FOR BATHING are:

• Bucket of water and sponge
• soap
• Towel
• Pomade

steps in washing our body are:

1. Get a good toilet soap, sponge or face towel and clean water.
2. Pour water on the body.
3. Soap the sponge very well , and use it to scrub the body.
4. Wash the armpits and groins very well to prevent bad odour.
5. Rinse the body with clean water.
6. Rinse the sponge and hang to dry.
7. Use clean towel to dry your body.
8. Rub the body with a good body cream or pomade.
9. Rub the hair with hair oil and comb very well.
10. Put on neat dress and shoes.

WHEN TO WASH OUR BODY are:

• We need to wash our body in the morning and evening.
• After doing dirty or hard work
• After doing any exercise.

We hope that other children who will eventually come across this teaching and exercise would learn from it.
