Think On God's Word philippians 4:8-9 , psalm 19:7-9

What you think about helps shape who you become and what you do. Thinking about the world makes you a worldly person, but thinking on the word of God makes you a kingdom-centered person.

Paul in our text today calls the Church to do one final thing and that is to fix their thoughts on God's word. A look at Psalm 19:7-9 shows clearly that the word of God is the only thing that posses the qualities that Paul mentions in Philippians 4:8. The word is true, honourable, right, pure and worthy of praise. This also means that God's word must be the standard of what we think about.

Philippians 4:8-9

^{8.For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
9.Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of [e]untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.
The greatest good you can do to yourself and your generation is to think on God's word daily. The word of God is His tool for shaping people to the image of Christ. His word is the key to faithfulness and fruitfulness; it keeps you from sinning; it keeps you in God's will; it helps you in praying aright; it gives you a true perspective of who you are and the world; it helps you live a victorious Christian life; it helps you live a life of obedience to God and makes you a model in this world.}

The truth is you cannot meditate on God's word and remain the same. Thinking on the word of God is the secret to great living.

Prayer Lord, help me to daily and always think on your word.
