THANKSGIVING FOR DELIVERANCE Psalm 124:1-8
God has indeed been on our side. God is always with His people wherever and whenever they are gathered. The specific situation for which the psalmist was thanking God for deliverance was that, ‘people rose up against us’. The danger was very real and threatening going by the images the psalmist used to describe it. ‘they would have swallowed us alive’; their anger was kindled against us like fire. He also continued, ‘the flood would have swept us away’. So the danger was serious and overwhelming.
But blessed be God, who has not abandon us to the whims and caprices of those who hate us! Blessed be the lord. Don’t you feel like taking some dance steps? God had not allowed us to become their prey, instead surely, we have escape, the snare(trap) has been broken. Hallelujah!
These were powerful people, threatening forces who in their arrogance waned to undermine God’s people. But God had not abandoned his people; he has intervened and rescued His people. This was what Jesus did for us at the cross of Calvary, working out our redemption and deliverance from the power of sin and satan.
Let us join the psalmist in singing; ‘our help is the name of the Lord’. God is an ever present help is trouble (Psalm 46:1). Spend time in praising God today even if there are powerful forces against you.
Prayer: Thank you Lord, for your mighty deliverance, I rejoice in you!

Yeah, God is always with his servants. Been protecting his loyal ones for time immemorial.
The phrase "Thanksgiving for deliverance" was not clearly explained. I would love to see what that means.
Whenever thanksgiving rises up to God , He is stirred into action to perform a miracle . Be a thanksgiver because thanksgiving releases enormous power of God to do wonders in your life . And one of such is total deliverance.
