WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE AND THE COST
HEBREW 1:24-26
[Aroused] by faith Moses, when he had grown to maturity and become great, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh 's daughter, vs 24 Because he preferred to share the oppression [suffer the hardships] and bear the shame of the people of God rather than to have the fleeting enjoyment of a sinful life.
He considered the contempt and abuse and shame [borne for] the Christ (the Messiah Who was to come) to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt, for he looked forward and away to the reward (recompense). Vs 26
Have you heard of a story of a King who was so handsome that even a sixteen year old girl wanted nothing but him, and when he declares interest and intentions to marry a woman, he takes them.
He does not ask for the hand of a woman in marriage, he takes them by force. For the king it is a must once he declares.
Egyptians kings had similar powers and that was part of the honey Moses refused by faith.
As they son of Pharaoh's daughter (the Pharaoh has at that time having no son), Moses was the heir apparent to the Egyptian throne.
To be an Egyptian Pharaoh then was to be like the President of the U.S today and that was what Moses refused.
He was actually trained and educated for that. A training and preparation that cost Pharaoh and Egypt much and by his kind of training, Moses knew the implications of his refusal, he knew the loss associated with that refusal.
Hebrews12vs1-4
Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Vs 2
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Vs 3
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Vs 4
What significant thing have you refused for God? What has Christ cost you? Are you grabbing everything that comes your way?
There is a sacrifice of faith. What has your faith cost you? Some confuse the cost of salvation, which Jesus paid fully at the Cross with the cost in consecration and they tell you need not to pay anything again.
People teaching that confusion have not studied their scripture to show themselves approved unto God, workmen needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.Consecration has a cost.
What have you refused? If you fail to refuse things you ought to refuse, you may not only become a refuse of destiny but you fall into the danger of being refused by Heaven at last.
Becoming a child of God takes your refusing to be the son of a natural man.
When you learn to refuse somethings that ought to be removed, there is a price for you in heaven.
Whose son are you?
PRAYER
May we see through the eye of faith to know things to refuse or accept.
