1 Timothy 2:5

God originally created us in his image and intended us to remain in harmony. But Adam and Eve disobeyed God and brought his condemnation upon the world.

We were separated from God by a deep and wide gulf.

We could not make ourselves righteous again, and God in his justice could not ignore our offences unless someone paid for them.

Without a mediator, our case was hopeless. Out of his infinite love Jesus decided to become our substitute and lived the perfect life that God demanded in his law he accepted also to suffer the penalty for our sins.

Thanks be to God, he satisfied the justice of God and through faith in him, we sinners are declared holy.

God proved himself the Lord of host on behalf of the Israelites as they fought their way to Canaan.

In his wisdom and love, he also sent Jesus to become our mediator. Jesus the son of the same God that man offended mediated between God and men .

Jesus was the only one worthy, for he is the word made flesh, both true God and true man.

Through his death and resurrection our mediator has made eternal peace for us with God.
