Topic: Heirs of the Father.

Memory Verse: Galatians 4:6–7: “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

The literal meaning of Heir is “someone who has been chosen to receive an inheritance.” An Heir is a person who receives something of value from a father (Mark 12:7, "But the tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours’.”). The Bible sometimes uses the word Heir to define us as beneficiaries of a gift from God (Galatians 4:7, “So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”). We are “Heirs” of God, and Christ is our “co-heir” (Romans 8:17, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”).

The New Testament depicts Jesus Christ as God’s “firstborn” Son (Hebrews 1:6, “And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."); that is, Jesus holds the “birthright” and is the Heir of the Father’s entirety (Hebrew 1:2, “but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.”). God has given Christ all of creation as a gift, because all was created for Him (Colossians 1:16, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.”). The inheritance and heirloom that Christ receives includes believers, those whom the Father has given to the Son (John 6:37, “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”).

Believers are co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”). Meaning, believers have been given the privilege and honor of sharing Christ’s inheritance and heirloom. As adopted sons of God, Christians are treated as firstborn heirs (Hebrews 12:23, “to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect...”). Our inheritance contains salvation (Hebrews 1:14, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”), eternal life (1 Peter 1:4, “and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you…”), and even a measure and degree of the throne of Christ (Revelation 3:21, “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.”).

You see, the devil’s objective was to make Jesus doubt His Sonship, and the devil wants to do the same thing to you.
He wants to terminate the Spirit of sonship in you and in the body of believers. He knows that once you indeed believe that you are a son of God, something happens, there’s going to be a shift; you begin to live life as “an heir of God through Christ”.
As a son and an heir of God, you inherit all the blessings of God which Jesus died to give you, including salvation, wholeness, healing, favor, provision, intimacy with God and answered prayers. And Jesus arose from the dead to make sure that what He died to give you, you get. He is alive today to administer this rich, blood-bought inheritance in your life.

My friend, you are an Heir of God through Christ. This means that you are Joint-Heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:17) So His inheritance is yours.
He owns every beast in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills. (Psalm 50:10, “for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.”) All the silver, gold and diamonds came from Him. What is healing, favor and provision when you are an heir of God? He is your Creator and the very breath of your life, your Alpha and Omega.
Treasured, enjoy every bit of your inheritance in Christ, not because you deserve or merit it, but because it was paid for by Jesus’ blood at Calvary!
We Are Heirs of the Father!
Peace be Unto You.
