Attitudes that we should avoid as followers of Christ!

God's word is clear about the largest Commandments and we must apply these principles that will help US live the life of healthy.

Matthew 22: 35-40

And one of them, interpreter of the law, asked for tempting him, saying:
Master, what is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is similar: You will love your neighbor as yourself.
All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.

Let's look at the second commandment ... In what way can we love ourselves? How can one love oneself?

God blesses us greatly through people, so we must relate well with others. But it is necessary first to love oneself, to be able to do the same with others.

One of the ways in which we can take care of ourselves and love ourselves is to know how to say "no" when necessary, and to be able to limit those things that hurt us.

Let's see some "no" that heal us .

DO NOT IDEALIZE ANYONE

By idealizing we place the person in a superior role and we shrink, in that way we become vulnerable and we are exposed to the other hurting us.
If we connect with people (whatever place the person occupies) it must be equal, because getting up is an act of pride and below is to be humiliated.

In humans there is a need to idealize and we must know that we all come from the same place and we are the same for God.

Acts 15: 36-41

After a few days, Paul said to Barnabas, "Let's go back and visit the brothers in all the cities where we have announced the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.
And Barnabas wanted them to take Juan with him, the one who was nicknamed Marcos;
but it did not seem good to Paul to take with him the one who had left them from Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work.
And there was such a disagreement between them that they separated from each other; Barnabas, taking Marcos, sailed to Cyprus,
and Paul, choosing Silas, was left entrusted by the brothers to the grace of the Lord,
and he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

All the people that at some time served by God in the Bible had failures and if God presents them it is so that we learn, and not to idealize them.

DO NOT REUSE THE WORDS OF PEOPLE.

There are words that will come to hurt you and provoke a reaction to that message they send you.

Ephesians 4: 29-32

Let no corrupt word come out of your mouth, but that which is good for the necessary edification, in order to give grace to the hearers.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Remove from you all bitterness, anger, anger, yelling and slander, and all malice.
But be kind to one another, merciful, forgiving one another, as God also forgave you in Christ.

I must react to the voice of God.
To walk in healing, do not react to the words of the people. Many people hear that God tells them that they will prosper or heal and they do not believe him, but if someone insults them immediately they react with instinctive speed.
React only to the Word of God!

NOT PUT THE LOOK AT THE MAN

If we put expectations in people we will have frustration because one day they respond well and another day badly. There is nothing more variable than human emotions.
For example, when you expect someone to help you, call you, accompany you and that does not happen, then you get frustrated.

Wait alone in God!

Santiago 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift descends from above, the Father of lights, in whom there is no change, nor shadow of variation.

I received the love of people, but do not expect anything because everything you need is in the hands of the Lord.

Your source is not your work, nor your family, nor your neighbor, nor your pastors, your source is God.

DO NOT COMPARE

Do not compare yourself or allow them to do it because you do not need to be like anyone else or win it.

2 Timothy 4: 6-7
Because I am already to be sacrificed, and the time of my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Pablo mentions that he had run the race, but he had not compared himself with anyone, the race was a personal overcoming to be like Christ, and not a reason to compare with the rest.

People with problems of esteem live comparing themselves, say for example: "you have a husband, children and I do not"; "You work so many hours but I work more".
All the blessings of God are for each one in particular, and we must enjoy them because they are exclusive for each one, because God created them for You.

DO NOT EXAGERATE IN PAIN

We must identify with the victory of Jesus. He identified with our pain so we can live his victory.

I do not need to suffer, Christ suffered for me.
God will not send suffering, death, or disease, do not value suffering. We must not prolong the suffering, we must claim what Christ won for us

God designed us for success, blessing and advancement.
The pain does not come from God who through Christ transformed our suffering into victory.

We must free ourselves from all suffering! All guilt and suffering was overcome by Jesus on the cross. We have the right to enjoy the goodness of God in our lives.

DO NOT BE THE VICTIM.

Each one has the remote control of their emotions and thoughts and decides what to feel, think and be happy.
Some say: "The day made me sick", is that you placed the power given by God outside of you.

Do not hand over the power of your emotions to others because you will be a puppet in their hands; No one can hurt you if you do not give permission, or get negative except yourself.
Retrieve the remote control of your life!

DO NOT OBLIGATE TO CHANGE ANYONE

Do not waste your energies wanting to change your husband, wife, in-laws, children, because if the person does not want ... it does not change.

By pretending to change someone, we take the activity away from God and activate a mechanism in the person that makes him resist.
Only God changes people and if you are taking his place he can not operate.

Matthew 7: 3-5

And why do you look at the straw that is in your brother's eye, and do you not see the beam that is in your own eye?
Or how shall you say to your brother: Let me remove the speck from your eye, and behold the beam in your eye?
Hypocrite! first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see well to remove the straw from your brother's eye.

The best way for the other to change is by not wanting to change him, but by being an example for his life.

Only God can heal all wounds, and He has given us His Word to guide us to make the best decisions, knowing how to say "no" when necessary.
